sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Another fine Mess-age... I had an epiphony* as i pondered this intro. Detroit is actually Moe-town. I leave it as an exercise to the Reader which of the other Stooges corresponds to which Central Division Rival... But of course, that leaves the eternal question of self identity... if we know who we are, do we really need to know who anyone else is? It is undoubtedly open to discussion. Could any pair of comics epitomize our beloved Twins? If we was winnin' on the Road, Bob and Bing might be an obvious choice, but we ain't. Bud and Lou always seems too obvious, what with the oft quoted baseball sketch, but i would like to consider Stan and Ollie myself.Anyway, as far as the game goes, I'm pretty confident of our chances with Maeda on the mound, but this line up in particular makes me proud. Rooker batting clean up. Buxton all the way up to the 7 hole. And to get ya in the mood for a fine game: Tigers:0. Tarik Skubal ( L) P1. Victor Reyes ( S ) CF2. Jonathan Schoop (R ) 2B3. Miguel Cabrera (R ) DH4. Jeimer Candelario ( S ) 1B5. Willi Castro ( S ) SS6. Jorge Bonifacio (R ) RF7. Christin Stewart ( L) LF8. Austin Romine (R ) C9. Isaac Paredes (R ) 3B Twins:0. Kenta Maeda (R ) P1. Jorge Polanco ( S ) SS2. Josh Donaldson (R ) 3B3. Nelson Cruz (R ) DH4. Brent Rooker (R ) RF5. Miguel Sano (R ) 1B6. Eddie Rosario ( L) LF7. Byron Buxton (R ) CF8. Marwin Gonzalez ( S ) 2B9. Ryan Jeffers (R ) C *No, not the Sondheim kind...

stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 N'yuk, n'yuk, n'yuk! Third straight left hander and another start for Mr. Rooker. It would be nice to get the bats going and have a comfortable victory!
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Feel like Maeda has done this the last few starts, and then settles in
Diesel Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Getting concerned about Arraez. Is Blankenhorn next man up??
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 From what I've seen, Schoop has been more impactful in 38 games than he was for 162 for the Twins. Good for him.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Born and raised in Duluth Minnesota I have been UMD Bulldogs Hockey fan since middle school. And of course a North Stars fan but I’ll admit I didn’t follow them too closely. I lived in Vegas when they moved to Dallas and I couldn’t believe a pro hockey team would move from Minnesota to Dallas. So I’m a Knights fan and I want to see the Dallas no stars go down. Sorry, go Twins!
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Is there any doubt that Bremer jinxed Maeda?
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 The Rook batting 4th, hmm

LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 I’m not worried about Maeda giving up a lead off homer
Diesel Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 I wonder if Donaldson is taking any catcher reps (only half joking)
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 I wonder if Donaldson is taking any catcher reps (only half joking)lol, I think it’s safe to say, that’s a no
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 That leadoff homer notwithstanding, Maeda looks sharp.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 That leadoff homer notwithstanding, Maeda looks sharp.Yeah, we’re not gonna win with zero so one run doesn’t really hurt us
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 61 Ks in 40 games is 240 for a 162 game season. What is the record?
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Twins having trouble hitting that Sku bal
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 They haven't really squared anything up yet.

Same arrogant sense of entitlement within the program and even more so from their fans.

I had friends from those days who also couldn't comprehend how that could happen. Until the Browns became the Ravens. Then they understood.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 Let's see how they do the second time through the lineup.

And the Bulldogs have won three National Championships since the last time the Gophers won one, great rivalry.
