It's a 60-game regular season... how often do we worry about a bullpen being gassed after 60 games?

Our bullpen has indeed been used much more than it was used last season through 40ish games, but the bullpen is also much deeper this season. Go take a look at how many innings our best relievers have pitched this season and tell me which one of them has been overworked.

How was the bullpen doing last year 60 games in? I mean go back and look at it. I think memory serves me right they used between 25 and 30 pitchers out of the bullpen last year. They lucked out and found some decent arms to finish up the season last year. The bullpen was not what they started with for sure. So when these guys get burnt out who are the next guys who are going to step up and pitch in the playoffs for the Twins because their starters can only throw 60 - 70 pitches?

At least Sano is leading the league in strikeouts?? He's a league leader right?

Ricky Vaughn, "I thought you had to do something good to be a celebrity?" Jake Taylor, "Not if you do it colorfully."

But who are they overusing?

We’re 39 games into the season and the bullpen innings leader is Wisler with 16.2 IP.

And if he can’t get a pitch to rip, we now know he’ll take one on the foot for the team.

Yeah, that was a rough welcome to the big leagues. I hope we see some of that promised power. Would be cool to see him settle in right away.

According to baseball reference, Brent Rooker has never played RF in his professional baseball career. Considering that Rooker is already considered a poor fielder, this might be interesting. I would have plugged Eddie into right and let Buck help Rooker in left

Rogers sure makes me nervous.

At some point, not sure exactly when, he started to look vulnerable. Might have been his first blown save.

Also, he doesn't seem to be throwing his Liriano slerve at the back heel of righties. Instead, he seems to be opting for straighter stuff and higher stuff.

Why??????

It's a 7-inning game, so it'll only be 2 innings (hopefully!)

I had to edit it, but you were too quick.  I am cutting firewood and had to grab a quick break.  But even with that fact, couldn't we have Dobnak go longer, save some BP arms.  A complete game should not be against the rules.

I still don't really understand your point, nor do I see any Twins reliever who has even come close to being overworked.

I get it, it's cool to see a pitcher throw a complete game, and we hardly ever get to see it anymore. But there would be a TON of crowing on here if Rocco let him start the 6th and he ended up giving up a couple of runs. There was very little margin for error, and, although Dobnak has been very good, I have a lot more trust in Duffey and Rogers in those tight situations than Dobnak. We saw in Dobnak's last start how quickly things can unravel for him.

Seriously, has anyone ever tried to teach Rosie how to run the bases properly? His aggression does pay off occasionally, but he makes some of the dumbest baserunning decisions I've ever seen.

Why do we assume that Dobnak will fall apart in the sixth?

Pretty sure it happened.

It isn't a figment of my imagination.

And just as glad the Tigers missed that too. Or at least enough of the pitches to allow it to happen.

he went 5 innings.
