Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Twins catch a break and get a run...Marwin is slow. Like really slow. He has the lowest sprint speed on the team at 24.3 FT/S. For comparison, Sano runs 26.8 FT/S, 6th on the teamMarwin is in the 4th percentile of sprint speed in all of baseball. 4th. Alex Avila is faster than him. And he’s batting cleanup tonight. Strange times we live in.

ashbury Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Ohhhh, we missed that glove! Thank you Byron!
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Welcome back, Buck! Yeah, like he said!
SS MagicMark Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Cave would've had thahahaha! Couldn't get it out with a straight face.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Buxton got that too! Then tempted fate by dropping it on the exchange, but it was obviously a catch. Just glad there weren't base runners.
twins_89 Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Marwin's nearly down to .600 OPS. He's really hurt the lineup over the past few weeks. BBref has him as a sub replacement level player (-0.1 WAR). The guys expected to make up the Twins bench have been ridiculously bad this season. In terms of OPS Wade (.467), Adrianza (.513), Cave (.529), Gonzalez (.608), Vargas (.613), and Avila (.627) are killing the team. There needs to be a major overhaul with prospects Kirilloff, Rooker, Jeffers, and maybe even Blankenhorn taking over spots.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 While we're at it, welcome back, Big Mike!
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 I didn't spot any mention of Kepler in this thread. Is Rocco sending a little message about last night's flub by writing Marwin's name in RF?
Diesel Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Just need a normal Pineda start—- 6 innnings, 2 RCome on, offense!
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Pineda was really good. The first inning was rusty, but not entirely his fault with the blunder to start it off. 6 inning, 2 runs, against this lineup is great.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Cave over Kepler to pinch hit? Holy cow Rocco, you're acting like we have won 6 in a row.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 I didn't spot any mention of Kepler in this thread. Is Rocco sending a little message about last night's flub by writing Marwin's name in RF? I wondered the same thing. Keuchel is a tough lefty, so it makes sense to give him a rest, but seeing Cave get the pinch hit opportunity here may be confirming the message. Edit: Or maybe he knew Cave was due.

ashbury Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Cave digs for third with one out. Lately I'm liking what I see from Jake.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 I like batting Arraez in this spot. Ball needs to be put in play.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Cave!!! (note the 3 exclamation points. Not a coincidence where he ended up)
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Tie game. Keep those boulders coming, and we may get a hill of our own...
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Two extra base hits in the same inning? I can’t remember the last time.
jun Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Let's go Twins. I think Vargas will be let go very soon. That should be good news.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Well the double kind of got turned into a single.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 I thought we were past the trade deadline! But Arraez just traded himself at second, for Sano at first.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Lima beans... Arraez gets taken out tryin' to advance on a ball in front of him. Oh well. Happens to the best of us. Hope everyone is okay after a hard slide on the tag.
