To avoid the Gladden factor, I’ve been listening to Uecker the last three innings. He definitely shows his age in a not-so-good way, but he’s been going on about great Twins from the ’60s. The thought of him hitting a long homer off Jim Kaat in the Northern League goes way back.

Bob Uecker belongs in the hall of fame

 

He is, if you count the Ford Frick Award that he won in 2003. YouTube his induction speech — it’s hilarious. 

 

The MLB Network special on him from a month or so ago was also excellent.

I never knew that, that was funny, saw Puckett in the audience... and yeah that definitely counts

Why isn't Peralta in Milwaukee's rotation? He's got some really good stuff and can clearly go several innings.

 

I've had him in fantasy in past years. His strikeout rates always very high, but usually his outings are either like the one we just saw or he can't throw strikes and get out of the first inning.

Kyle Gibson pitched 4 1/3 threw 89 pitches gave up 9 hits and 4 runs tonight against the Mariners

Vintage Gibson! It probably took him 2 hours to get to that point, also, nibbling away.
