This is exactly what we saw last season when he was working on tweaking his swing. His bat looked like Swiss cheese for a couple of weeks, but once it clicked, he was all-world... Hoping for more of the same this season.

Normally something you can allow guys to play through (and I think it still is the case right now), but we are 10% done with the season tonight.

Buxton is one of the few Twins with a hit tonight, and hit the ball hard his first at bat foul. I understand this is a frustrating game, but baseball isn't a sport where hot takes are usually accurate.

Bieber's performance tonight is one of the best I can remember seeing in quite some time. The stuff, command, pitch mix, all of it is just on point.

I’m more concerned with Garver and Donaldson. They’re in prominent places in the order and providing nothing.

 

We’ve seen this from Sano. He’ll eventually get going. I don’t think Buxton has looked terrible at the plate. Not ideal, but it can be tolerated longer at the bottom of the lineup.

That was promising from Thorpe in relief, and the good news is we have gotten 4 scoreless innings from 2 of the 3 bottom guys in our bullpen, and are only down 2 going into the 9th. More good news is Bieber is out of the game, and the guy coming in has control problems. The bad news is we are down 2 and the guy coming in has the highest MiLB K numbers ever....Go Twins
