Randy Dobnak looked disgusted with himself during parts of this outing, and yet still navigated through a tough lineup that probably shouldn't have scored the one run they got.

Threw 51 of his 73 pitches for strikes (69.9%) and got nine swinging strikes.

If Keuchel isn't throwing hard enough to break glass, maybe it's time for the Twins to move up to the front of the batter's box.

 

They'd at least have a shot to hit the called strikes that are bouncing on the plate, and if nothing else, they'd theoretically be 3 feet closer to the alternate universe that Hoberg's strike zone exists in.

Havent been impressed with Donaldson's swings so far, at all.

One of the Twins Daily predictions was that Donaldson would have a slow start to the season, as that's a usual thing for him... hopefully it won't last too long. Reminds me of Dozier, who'd usually ramp up in June/July and catch fire.

Nelson Cruz is my favorite late-career signing since Jim Thome. There's no one I'd rather see coming to the plate in a situation like that.

Just saw that Martin Perez made his first start for the Red Sox. Gave up 5 runs (4 earned) over 5 innings, and the Sox trail the Orioles 7-2 in the 7th.

Agreed. Not panicking or anything, but he's been unimpressive. That first-pitch GIDP earlier today, if Rosario did that this board would be clamoring for his immediate demotion.
