Today's appearance was #725 in Sergio Romo's career, 90th all time in MLB history.

For a dude about five nine who weighs a buck sixty, even more impressive.

Here's a fun one: The Twins currently have the 7th best record in baseball, but are in position to clinch the playoffs as a 7 seed. It's pretty unlucky that the Twins are in the division with two of the six better teams, especially since there's only 2 NL teams that have a better record.

The good news is that the Twins control their own destiny. If they can win 4-5 of the next seven games, they will be in position to get a much higher seed, especially given that they then would have the tiebreaker edge on one or both of the other playoff contenders in the division.

At this point, the only thing likely in play is batting at the end of the game. It appears MLB will play the postseason at neutral sites, making seeding close to worthless.

That's true... though for some reason the Twins are 18-5 in home games this year!

I’ve been reading that the best-of-three opening series will be played at the higher seed. It would be nice for the Twinsvto host that series. It is in their hands. Wine 4 or 5 of seven against the White Sox and Cleveland should move them up and also hold the tiebreaker against either team.

That was the original idea, but it seems more likely by the day they will play the postseason in neutral sites in CA and TX.

15 runners left on base in last nights loss to the W'Sox. I didn't bother to look at the box score but 1 run speaks for itself. This is more and more 4bagger or nothing offense and that won't work in playoffs or maybe even against these "better take them seriously" Sox. This one week stay in Chicago should prove to be very interesting.

Byron Buxton has reached a 3-ball count just 5 times this year.

I don't really care... I just find it astonishing.

EDIT: Actually it's, at most, 4 times. There's some overlap between 3-0, 3-1, and 3-2 counts.

Buck makes Eddie Rosario look like Kevin Youkilis.
