Yeah honestly right now I'll be pretty happy if the Twins can grab a wild card game. Never know what can happen in one game. Berrios has a nice game, we might sneak into a division series. It would suck to not make the playoffs, though.

Gibson should be pulled as soon as he allowed a base runner in the 5th. He clearly can't throw strikes or get hitters to chase balls.

It just shows how pitching is the cat's meow in baseball even in 2019. Baseball will probably always be about pitching, pitching, pitching. If you have great pitching, the sky's the limit.

Currently the team is first in the majors in slugging average, but sixth in on base percentage. Arraez does his part to bring a little balance.  He'd be less valuable in a different lineup.

Not to be defeatest but hard to see the Twins hanging onto the division lead with this Cleveland rotation once Kluber is back.

 

Can’t tell if this is sarcasm but my god, if they’ve lost you, it must really be serious!!

Even though I am harping on pitching, I will say it was quite the ride this year, no matter what happens in the last two months. I have never seen a lineup with so much muscle.

It's pretty unfortunate that this is the line of thinking on August 8 when there's still 9 games left with the Injuns and the final 2 weeks of the schedule is littered with Chisux, Royals, and Tigers. Oh, and they're still up by a game. Perk up!!

By the time the next series with the Indians rolls around, Corey Kluber will be pitching again. The Twins simply have no answer for the Indians starting pitching. They will have THREE better than ANYONE the Twins have.

That would have been a great outing for Littell if he just would have saved that double for a different AB... but unlike Stashak and Stewart he did his job.

He made sure it's his mop up time with that pitch.

So will Houston and possibly the Yankees. That’s...not ideal

I do think we have a great chance next year if we can hold onto most of our lineup and find better replacements for Perez and Gibson. Polanco and Arraez are wonderful players. Garver's great. Kepler, Rosario, and now Sano is showing some real potential. There's actually a real good chance we don't even make the playoffs this year, but I'll tell you what, if we ever get pitching in the next 3 or 4 years, we will be a force to be reckoned with.

The Twins don’t have to face them again unless they actually beat someone in the playoffs, something they haven’t done in 17 years.
