MNT1996 Verified Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Twins have had a couple of really long singles tonight
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Pineda has had some problems with solo HRs recently, but outside of that he's been solid. He seems to have command over his pitches, with zero walks thus far (and I think he had 0 in his last start?). I'd keep throwing him out there and see if he improves.100% Hits are good. Walks are good. Runs allowed good. The solo HR tell me he's still getting a "feel" for his stuff. The #1 thing I've always heard from guys coming back from surgery was not velocity...which actually increased many times...but just getting the "feel" for the rest of their stuff on a consistent basis.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Yeah Buxton before Polanco!!!
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 If only Buxton and Polanco could ever start to reach their potential. Oh wait! Am I late? Lol
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Buxton hitting .285 at this point is quite the revelation - I know I certainly didn't think he'd hit this well. It seems his Spring Training was a sign of things to come.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Nice to see Duffey battle back from the 3-0 count!!! Nice catch from Polanco!
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 2 quality starts in a row from Pineda. Just needs to work on keeping the ball in the park now but I like the progress
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 This inning is very interesting to me. Can Duffey, with a big lead, keep his head in the game? Can he throw the CB for strikes and still show his new FB? Audition time!!

Don Walcott Verified Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Hawkins called that one — he just needs one pitch to get out of this inning.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 good insurance run to get thereThank God for this!!!
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Well...the Twins need some bullpen help
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Really? Huge lead and that happens? Challenge someone!
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 I was kidding about the insurance run comment, I hope it doesn't come into play
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Yeah... looks like things aren't working out for Duffey so far. Well, it has been years since he's been good in the majors, so I can't act surprised. Suddenly, we may need one of our better relievers to finish this game.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Well...the Twins need some bullpen helpI wish somebody would have seen that coming.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Like that, DAMNIT! Did I just curse? Lol
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 The breaking pitch looks good from Duffey, but you just can't throw a straight fastball in a hittable location to this power lineup
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 This isn't related to this game, but I saw the Rangers beat the Royals 16-1 with Danny Santana starting at SS and Logan Forsythe at 3B. And Santana's their leadoff hitter... weird!
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 So incredibly frustrating to see a guy like Duffey that you feel is always on the presicipse of actually being good, but just never seems to get there. SSS for 2019 and 1 game doesn't mean anything, and Johnson needs time to work with him still, but, grrrrrr!
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 WOOOOOOOOO BUXTON!!!!!!!Please don’t go. Woooooooooooo . . . .
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Cron has had 3 4-hit games in the last 7 days, I believe. That'll get your batting average up there.
