MMMordabito Verified Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Can we trade DeJong to the Mets mid-game, so that we can maybe win?
bighat Verified Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 More of the side story. Even in the Mets' fans minds. They saw the same comedy we did. Agree. Story of the game was the embarrassing-but-can't-look-away catastrophic implosion from the Twins pitchers. Hey, Twins should be able to climb at least within 5 by the time the 9th rolls around.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Morneau just mentioned it: Those 3 runs Perez gave up last inning now loom large. Attaboy Cave.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 One swing of the bat by "Grand Slam Eddie" and we have a real ball game! Whoops. The chubby guy is up....
bighat Verified Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Anyone think the Mets bring in an untested reliever who just arrived on the AAA shuttle right now with the bases loaded? Ok A-Stud, let's hit one where they ain't.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 The Martin Perez signing continues to baffle me.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Shine coming off Astudillo a little bit here in NY. He's been grounding out to 3rd base on the regular right about now.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Astudillo will be setting a Twins record for GIDP if he makes it all year on the roster. Contact can be cruel.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 6-5 right now without the Perez gifts.

The Twins really needed him to elevate a sac fly right there. He seems to be just pounding balls into the ground and that's not a good thing for him. I'm guessing he grabs some bench at least the next 2 games.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Hildenberger's ERA still 0.00. What a joke.
RaoulDuke Verified Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Look, I think we all knew there would be some bad innings early from this BP until we found some guys. Time to get that shuttle up and running. Vasquez and DeJong, no. Who's next? Kimbrel?
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 NOW Baldelli puts in May! Sure. Wait until you are behind by 4 runs or more..... good idea. Stick to late innings, not when the game is turning...... Ha.... now May walks the first batter..... un f-ing believeable. Only 10 walks so far....
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Well, it appears none of our pitchers can throw strikes...
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Not even close. You always pinch hit after the sixth, unless you are way ahead. And that doesn't make up for the first two or three awful at bats for each team. Disagree. It more than makes it up for me. There's even strategy involved in the lead-up to a SPs ABs.To some of us, it isn't the end of the world having to endure a couple Odorizzi ABs. Baseball is the true thinking man's game, it has survived and thrived in the NL in the Dh-free era.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 4 strikes in a row. Check his temperature!
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 This Dominic Smith dude is a tool.

Baseball is the true thinking man's game, it has survived and thrived in the NL in the Dh-free era. The DH - which I am ambivalent about - always made me think of the little league pinch runner rule. So kind of little league in the MLB. I don't mind it either way though. But I think pitchers should know how to hit, too. Playing baseball means batting and well as playing the field.

Logically following... this also implies that DHers should be in the field....

bighat Verified Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Strange Rocco didn't at least have Cruz in the on deck circle to get Diaz nervous. Is Rocco paying attention?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Cruz is better than Adrianza, according to some
drock2190 Verified Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Cruz hasn't faced live pitching for awhile and he wouldn't be good at coming off the bench trying to hit 99.
