I'm on spring break from teaching first graders.  I'll probably post this and then disappear into planning mode, but when I glanced at the lineups, it kind of felt like a real game, so here goes.

Twins:

Kepler

Polanco

Cruz

Rosario

Gonzalez

Cron

Schoop

Castro

Buxton

Berrios--This here is the opening day lineup, right?

Red Sox:

Benintendi

Betts

Devers

Martinez

Bogaerts

Moreland

Holt

Bradley

Vasquez

Eovaldi--Pretty close to opening day.

And, Boston is up 1-0--Out, Walk, Single, Single

Thanks Han - I noticed that also.  Certainly could be the Twins Opening Day line-up and batting order.  Enjoy your fun in the (hopefully) sun!

Hey, that was a nice game.  Got a little (very little) lesson planning done.  Changed the water filters on the house system.  And, that's about it.

It's kind of weird, but all the sudden, Polanco, Kepler, Rosario, Berrios, even Buxton seem all grown up.  I don't know if there is a stat for this, but they sure feel like the core of a pretty good team.

I didn't get to see the game, but that's what I've been waiting for. The last couple years it seemed like they were supposed to be the new core for a competitive future, but I got zero Hunter/Koskie/Jones,Guzman/Pierzynski/Radke vibes from them.

I'd been hopeful all winter that they just needed the new manager to really tie the room together.

It was interesting to see Harper throw the 9th inning... we might be seeing him in the majors at some point.

I will wondered the same thing but most teams use their closers earlier in the game. The reserves are in at the end. Trevor May saw the last of the Red Sox starters.

I was thinking it was a sign that Harper has risen to the top of the reserves, and not that he was going to be put into high leverage situations immediately. Hopefully he's passed Magill and Duffey on the totem pole by this point.

today was my last day at the fort and my 4th game, two big league, two minor league games.

I hope next spring break you can come down. It’s awesome! And you get to watch outdoor baseball too

If you suddenly found yourself with an extra day there, which would you pick, the minor league or the major league game?

I tried to get tix to Twins/Redsox at Jet Blue, and wasn’t willing to pay the 50 per scalper cost. Instead I walked in to the minors games. Absolutely the right choice.

Minor League backfields was so much fun. It’s baseball overload as you can have 2 or 3 games going on, plus the side sessions.

One of my favorite moments was when Albee Weis has a throw up the line. As a righty playing first base, he had a conundrum and got crossed up, the ball ended up going to the fence. At the end of the inning, he grabbed one of the coaches and asked him if he should turn his shoulder again next time to keep his foot on the bag. The coach gave him the tutorial there on in the dugout on keeping square to the field and move your feet. Better to save that ball from the fence and miss that out than give up runs. It was so great.

Concur, on all aspects of your reply. Don't tell the team, but if the major league spring games were free and we had to pay a little to enter the back fields area, I'd choose the latter just about every time.

Sitting on the metal stands, and having a few players come over and sit nearby, and noticing that one of them is J.O. Berrios, is way cool too. Well, different stud prospect now, but you see what I mean. They keep to themselves, but are approachable if that's your thing.

Severino and Garry Jr sat nearby me.

Dude, I'd add May, Gibson, Rogers, Hildy, maybe Garver and even Sano to that mix as well--combined with Mauer, Dozier, and Molitor moving onto other vistas.

But man, nothing against Marwin, but I sure wish Escobar was still here.
