Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Oh, god. That game was 16 years ago?

TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Yup, pics or it didn't happen. I'd love to see that thread.
Doomtints Verified Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 It's been a long time since 2001 and I am still shocked how Mays and Milton were so great for one year. And that's it. The only thing that makes sense is they were juicing.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Does anyone have the ballboy's phone number?
bird Verified Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 That was a long long time ago. I don't recall it, but it's on my calendar, which I obviously still have. Let me just angrily say this: I drank beer. Many of us drank beer. I liked beer. I still like it. Joe May, not so much. I didn't like Joe May much.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 link? Pretty please??This thread predates even BYTO by four years. It was the old ESPN boards that were dissolved around 2008 or so.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Fangraphs is a thing of beauty sometimes. Joe Mays' fastball was clocked in at an average of 87.5 MPH. Not sure what happened to him in 2003 where it dipped to 85.2 MPH... But that didn't stop him from throwing it 60% of the time!

Fangraphs has no velocity data on Joe Mays at all.

Boy the way Glen Miller played songs that made the hit parade. Guys like us, we had it made. Those were the days!
Doomtints Verified Member Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Also... Bergman and Mays actually do look very similar. My money is on it being the same guy.

Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 2002 ALDS, game 2? His next start was pretty good though (ALCS game 1).
