Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Yeah, Garver! There we go!!!
wavedog Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Tied it up! Garver has been swinging it well
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Good to see Garver improving so much since April.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Author Posted September 1, 2018 Yeah, saw this coming all the way. (Not.)
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 So if Garver could ever learn to play a position, from scratch, and then somehow practice his skills to the point where he could be competent at that position, and then work his way up through the minor league levels, he might actually have a future in MLB
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Author Posted September 1, 2018 WTF!!! Guess we know why the Rangers have the record they do.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Good lord this team
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 I'd like to thank "Moore", whoever the hell he is
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 I can’t wait to see the win expectancy chart from tonight no matter what happens the rest of the way. Gonna look like a seismograph.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 All those guys took basic swings that inning. No timing mechanisms or toe taps or whatever. Buxton needs to just simplify it down. Just stand there relaxed like in little league, and if it's a good pitch, take a hack.
slash129 Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Looks like the Twins will be holding auditions for Teen Angels for the Captain Caveman bit on FSN next season ... Oh wait, it's 2018 ... Nevermind, never gonna happen
slash129 Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 I'm calling Gallo -> Yard Edit: Vinegar
bighat Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Garver throws it into center on cue. This is a great example of two bad teams just putting on a circus show in a meaningless game. And those of us watching just want OUR bad team to win!
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Author Posted September 1, 2018 I think Hawkins generally does a good job in the booth, but how is it that someone who has spent over 25 years of his life associated with baseball can't pronounce Hispanic names properly? Gladden, who has been around for close to 35 years, is even worse. To me, anyone who is serious about any kind of career in baseball should try to have a working command of Spanish, and that's especially true for people who talk about it for a living.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 ok so that's a tiny bit unfair IMO. The throw was on the bag but low and Adrianza had a hard scoop on it .. also Polanco didn't back it up, which is why the runner could go to third
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Boy, the defense has been a disaster today. I find it odd how bad the defense has been in 2016 and 2018 but they seemed far more sound in 2017.

That's not a unique flaw. About 75% of American-born announcers seem to have tons of trouble...embarrassingly, it's not even that hard. It's pretty evident that they just don't work on it, and nobody corrects them. Hawkins is great in the booth, but as a relatively inexperienced broadcaster, pronunciation mistakes are on the producers. Dick's not great either.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Author Posted September 1, 2018 OK boys, keep the line moving. Let's see another 8-spot here.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Author Posted September 1, 2018 This ump has been unfairly squeezing pitchers tonight.
wavedog Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 How is the earlier ball hit to Mauer a hit and Cave’s hit an error? They were very similar
Monkeypaws Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Is Garver considered a rookie? He sure is getting better and better
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Author Posted September 1, 2018 I am less likely to patronize Pizza Ranch now than I was before the season started.
