VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Annnnnnd we get off to a great start....... Chapman is now 7 for 15 in the series. Maybe you don't pitch to him anymore today.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 me waiting for berrios to be dominant
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Author Posted August 26, 2018 How many Grateful Dead fans does it take to change a light bulb?None, they're pretty comfortable around burnouts. So, what did the deadhead say when he ran out of weed?
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Author Posted August 26, 2018 Annnnnnd we get off to a great start.......His inning was a mixed bag. The rest of the game may put it in one context or a different one, depending. Nice challenge by the dugout crew to give Mauer a base hit.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 None, they're pretty comfortable around burnouts. So, what did the deadhead say when he ran out of weed?I'll have to defer to you on this one, Mr Haight Ashbury.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Author Posted August 26, 2018 Hey Miguel, get ready for some curveballs.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Author Posted August 26, 2018 I'll have to defer to you on this one, Mr Haight Ashbury.Kind of high-falutin' language from a deadhead. Nah, his actual quote was, "man, this music SUUUUCKS!"
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 How many alcoholics does it take to change a light bulb?
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 None, they're pretty comfortable around burnouts. So, what did the deadhead say when he ran out of weed?To quote the late Furry Freak Bros. pot will get you thru times of no money better than money will get you thru times of no pot.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Author Posted August 26, 2018 We're getting our share of close plays at first, so far this game.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Author Posted August 26, 2018 How many alcoholics does it take to change a light bulb?I'll have to defer to you on this one, sir.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 How many alcoholics does it take to change a light bulb?Just one. Hold bulb with one hand, drink till room spins with other.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Author Posted August 26, 2018 Pretty big jump Laureano got on Berrios.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Notice how Phegley's nickname is PTBNL. Funny,
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Author Posted August 26, 2018 That was a beautiful curve to strike out Davis for the second out here in the third.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 That was a beautiful curve to strike out Davis for the second out here in the third.Yeah, even though he's struggled a little, he's still throwing some great pitches and hasn't walked anybody. The pitch count is higher than you'd like it, but if his is a bad start from him, I'll take it.

Which is a pleasant change from certain recent games by other pitchers. Just a little of this, a little of that, standing between him and a really good game today. No jinx.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Author Posted August 26, 2018 That was not a beautiful swing by Sano, for the third out.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Author Posted August 26, 2018 We missed Mauer's first-base stylings on that low throw from Logie Bear, denying us the DP. Just a fielder's choice, not E3 since you can't assume the double play, but it's a play that the traditional defensive stats don't catch. Hopefully DRS, or whatever, dings Austin for that.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Austin needs to play 1B every day, getting as many reps as possible. Maybe he can play maybe not but he needs to play to get better or determine he isn't a fit there, imo.

But hopefully he watches video of that play, and agrees he needs to participate in limberness/flexibility training, to get that board out of his back.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Austin powers! Shagadelic!!
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 26, 2018 Author Posted August 26, 2018 And speaking of.... AUSTIN!!!!

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Wow, Austin has sure clicked with the Twins. Couldn't the Yankees use a guy at 1B...?
