Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 I love this game! The only thing missing for me, and I’m waiting and hoping for this to happen, is for a base runner to just suddenly run out into the outfield for no reason whatsoever.I’m pulling for a situation so weird that an outfielder tags a runner at home plate.
David HK Verified Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 I wonder if Tom Emanski is rolling over in his grave, or if he's still alive and doing a spit-take.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 So, if Garver hits a ball safely to the outfield, the correct move is to tackle the pitcher, right? Assuming we’re playing by Calvinball rules here.
David HK Verified Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Cripe, this reliever's nearing 50 pitches. It's time to do some serious damage here, then duck and cover for the THE.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 What Garver did wrong there was a failure to tackle the pitcher.
mrmpls Verified Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Looked like slo-mo on the play - nice hit garver
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Walking Mauer to get to Rosario . . . . That’s just the kind of sane decision-making this game was crying out for.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Leaving more outs on the bases...
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Here's what I really liked about that play. I like how Cave, after getting tagged way before scoring, reaches up and touches the catcher's glove, with the ball in it, also before he scores, just to be absolutely sure there can be no doubt in the umpire's mind about safe/out, and any replay challenge will provide indisputable proof of outcome.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Maybe they should have pinch-run Adrianza for Cave?
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Must be a Puerto Rican thing!!
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 I’m so glad I queued up the Benny Hill theme 15 minutes ago.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Berardino tweet: "Gonsalves has asked to be sent back to Rochester. He wants to play professional baseball."
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Must be a Puerto Rican thing!!To quote Bert. (Quoting myself to be clear about that).
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 This might be the worst baseball I've seen in years.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Berardino tweet: "Gonsalves has asked to be sent back to Rochester. He wants to play professional baseball."Ooh, that’s good.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 This might be the worst baseball I've seen in years. Also endlessly entertaining.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Annnnd, Polanco is thrown out at second. That wasn’t at all predictable.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 It is almost impressive that more runs haven't scored with how bad of baseball is being played.Bad pitching, coupled with bad defense does not outweigh poor hitting, coupled with bad baserunning. It's science.
