    Twins team slugging percentage is .520. 62 players have/had higher career slugging percentages. Most of them are HOF sluggers. https://www.baseball-reference.com/leaders/slugging_perc_career.shtml Nelson Cruz isn't one of them. His is .518.

    Actual conversation from the booth (slightly paraphrased due to my weak memory) Dick: The Twins are on pace to score 923 runs this year. Many thought this team could score 800, but 923! LaTroy: If the Twins can keep up this pace they should be able to get to that number. Math must not be LaTroy's thing.

    I still hate the Brunansky trade. We traded a slugging corner outfielder for a 32 year old 2nd baseman. It turned out that Bruno's best years were behind him, but I think he would have had a better career if he stayed in Minnesota. Herr was washed up when we got him. MacPhail should have known better. I remember his quote when a reporter asked why he did it. He said , "Someone would have burned my house down if I traded Kirby Puckett." That team needed a 2nd baseman, but that wasn't the way to address it.

    The only middle infielders who are free agents this year are Manny Machado, Escobar, and a bunch of old guys whose best baseball is behind them. I'm afraid that our 2019 middle infield is currently in our system.
