Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Nice way to ruin an inning by Molly. Pinch-runs the slow Adrianza and has him steal 2nd, easily getting caught, and somewhat forcing Mauer to swing there. Just keep Austin in the game and have Joe what he normally does... You'd think Gardy was managing the Twins. Paulie has used a lot of the Gardy cookbook, unfortunately.
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Trivia question my son gave me last night... Babe Ruth, Tom Seaver, George Brett, Ken Griffey Jr., Rube Waddell -- top 5 in career WAR with what in common? They all walked into Henny Youngman's bar together. Bartender says, "Okay, I'll serve you, but I don't want to find any foreign substance on your beer mugs when you leave."
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Eddie! (The first couple pitches were just for practice.)
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Who you got in the 9th? Hildenberger? May? Moya? Busenitz? Reed? Drake?
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 That's why you don't pinch run. HR Rosario.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Who you got in the 9th?Hildenberger?May?Moya?Busenitz?Reed?Drake?Bully is quiet. Looks like Hildenberger. But I'd have someone warming if it were me.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 You'd think Gardy was managing the Twins. Paulie has used a lot of the Gardy cookbook, unfortunately. Agreed, but I'm holding off on the 'Gardy Jr.' label until Molitor gets crushed by the Yankees in the playoffs a few more times. Also, Molitor's face has yet to achieve that shade of cherry tomato red that Gardy's did when he was ejected. Hope he's not giving up on getting there some day.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 I don’t feel like going back and looking, but I would presume the wisdom of allowing Odorizzi to face a lineup for the third time has been discussed already. He simply shouldn’t face hitters the third time. EVER.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Forsythe can't buy a hit now.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 I will say that it’s a bit concerning that none of our pitchers can throw strikes
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Not going to get the call when you are all over the place.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Not going to get the call when you are all over the place. Same thing that happened to Odorizzi and Magill You're absolutely right.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 I still want to see May and Moya get chances to close out games. And Busenitz.

Platoon Verified Member Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Coupled with Garver behind the plate.Concur. But on this team, at this time, he has to catch. He does have flexible wrists though. That one slider he turned his wrist completely around and shoved the ball 4" off the plate. That's not easy to do. Nor will any umpire call it a strike after a contortion like that.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 I’m still trying to process the fact that Ken Griffey, Jr’s name is actually George.
