Waiting around to march in a parade, i see a lack of game thread... So for old time's sake:

Things to think about.

1. Winning. Don't always feel good? Yeah, i know it isn't all about it. But again, maybe it is, just at a different game. Like maybe...

2. Player development. We didn't win yesterday, But Mr. Stewart knows more about pitching in the Majors than he did before, and we know more about him. Maybe not much, but... well...

3. Something. It would be the height of hubris to think i knew what a game thread would end up being about. It could be...

4. Music. Math. Myths...

5. Is right out. Well, pending review on instant replay, which, despite its name, isn't exactly instant. But neither is Coffee...

Can you post a pic of the convertible with the the State Farm stickers on the doors? It's not a parade without one! :)

Not yet.

Probably not.

Thes sad part of being in parades is ya only really see the groups near ya. I think it has stepped off, but we are far enough back the slinky effect hasn't yanked us forward.

Whoops, you are in the parade. I drive in one every year while the kids throw out candy for the locals.... One year I followed about ten Shriners in their midget cars. That was a full time job. Those guys are crazy! :)

Well, I bailed yesterday (Sunday morning for me) after Duff gave up that 3-run duffer to a guy with a Wilson-esque batting average.

Went for a run through the nearby villages in my Hong Kong neighborhood.  T'was my birthday- the 60th edition thereof, so instead of woefully following the mound failings, I started the day another way, and finished up nicely.

Now, it's game time again, but near 2AM, and back from the pubs in fine form.  I'll crash before the 1st inning's over, no doubt--

Here's what I didn't miss, while I missed the end of the game....

Get 'em, boys!  Go Twinkies!

Rain run 1 villages

rain run 2- hills

rain run 3- bay

Oh, yeh, by the way--  I ran into this little beauty on the way back--

Female wild boar about thigh-high, with 3 babies in tow, heading for the convenient trash receptacle...

I was wetting myself too badly to take a good photo---

Piggy mommy1

She may be the same one I nearly crashed into on my way to the local market a couple nights before- and wouldn't you know, I forgot the freakin' bacon!

Parade is stepping off...

Y'all take good care of the game!

Is it a circus parade?

Don't get behind the elephants...

Dicknbert talking about the screw-up by the Detroit front office regarding today's pitching. That should never happen to any major league operation.

Guys, we're at 42 pitches for Odorizzi and he has 4 outs. Can we not bring him back next season as a starter? I liked the trade but the past few months have been disappointing. I'd rather roll with one of the young guns.

Odorizzi with possibly the best game plan I've seen from a starting pitcher - get behind as many hitters as you possibly can with a 2-0 or 3-0 count and work back from there. Sneaky little fella.

Can’t stand to watch Odorizzi pitch! Do you mean he’s the best the Twins have? 3balls to every batter.

Position players are falling asleep. Everything up. He’d be a good waste pitcher- bring him in when they are behind by a ton. Amazing a major league pitcher cannot throw strikes!

Farmer allows 1 out walk. First baserunner. Very good vs LH hitters this year

So of course MN runs out lefties in 4 of the first 5 batters.

Odor has been miserable most of the season, but that's ok, with his 5 inning efforts, he's earning his next arbitration paycheck.

Now he tells me...

Er, just joking. Don't think i am good enough for circus music.

Ordinary historical event memorial thing i think. Had to wait for commemorative speech or something.

Anyway enjoying free food afterwards.

Would you look at that, the beauty of attacking the strike zone! Still threw 16 pitches but at least it wasn't as ugly as the 20+ pitch innings we're used to. Great inning from him.

Getting the most out of each batter.

Wouldn't be much fun if he only got to throw 3 pitches to each batter.

Catching up on TiVo. Is it just me, or does Polanco consistently struggle catching the ball on tag plays at second?

Just needed buck farmer to leave the game. Reality for DET set in.

Love the dingers.

Odorizzi right the ship after the 2nd. Credit where it's due.
