Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 That's 6 HRs Erv has already given up.Indeed, about time to shut it down.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Speaking of advice I gave to my kids when they were in high school...I remember my son asking me for a pickup line he could use to secure a date with this girl he had his eye on. "Son," I said, "Walk right up to her and ask her 'If I asked you for a date, would your answer be the same as the answer to this question?'"
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Bremer with a lecture about how Detroit gave up prospects. They at least went for it, Blowhard. You're exactly right.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 That's 6 HRs Erv has already given up.Indeed, about time to shut it down.I remember hearing how impressed the front office was with his command during his final rehab starts.
twins_89 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 I've paid too little attention to Adrianza at the plate. Partly because he's never forced me to. But that single he laced was nice. Maybe coach James Rowson is having a positive effect on him? Adrianza had a really nice June at the plate (.861 OPS in 25 games) that made me start to think he might be able to hold down a middle infield spot until Gordon is ready. Unfortunately, he went on the DL in July and since he's come off the DL he's been truly awful at the plate.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Shame to see what’s happened with Erv. Although he did cheat so maybe it’s karma?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 ... Like everyone else.Do we get that many likes?
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 I think Santana could use a good 6 months off from baseball until he throws again. Maybe he'll get his MPH back on that fastball, or at least some of it.It was his finger, not his shoulder or elbow. Maybe he lost the MPH because of the enforced idleness, and more idleness would do more harm than good now?
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Great Job Erv! Only 3 hits allowedBut they're a triple and 2hr's.

He's not been all that sharp and when his fastball sits at 88-89 mph any mistake gets crushed. I'm really seeing echos of Phil Hughes in that Santana just can't survive as a junk baller.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 5-1... 1 and 5... Perhaps i should pay closer attention. I think we still got this...
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Kepler now 1-18 on this road tripBrutal
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 LoMo is out Again Detroit D brutal Most of MN lefties brutal tonight.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 I was hoping we could get something for Ervin at the end of the month! Now I'll just be happy when his option is declined!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 .186 for LoMo. Has there been a bigger bust of a signing for the twins that has lasted as long as he has? Even butch huskey hit .223 Edit: I was thinking nishioka but even he hit .226, and he only lasted 68 games in ‘11
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Berardino ripping, which is not often Goodrum drops a foul pop to keep Garver at the plate. This may be one of the five worst baseball games I have ever covered. However low the intensity level seems on your television, I assure you it is even lower in person. On the field. In the stands. In the press box.Just a dreadful six innings.Still 3 more to go ...
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 .671 OPS. I'm tellin' ya, at least against Zimmerman, I'm liking that swing.

I know it will never ever ever happen, but we still have just under 50 games of this junk left.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 I’m only following this game from the app and I have to admit I’m fascinated how Santana has allowed five base runners and five runs.

Pretty easy Triple by Jones. Should have been a double, but Rosario threw behind him at 2nd and he took thirdScored on sac fly BB/HRBB/HR And Voila!! 5 runs
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 D by Castellanos to rob Kepler 2-21 vs Detroit this year.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 According to gameday, Jimenez is throwing 94 MPH fastball and 91 MPH changeup. I’m not a pitcher, but that doesn’t sound like a recipe for success.

tvagle Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Big Erv has been pitching uphill all year long...no bite to his best pitch (slider) just a spinning hit-me signAnd his FB has no downward planeWhen he tries to get a little more on the FB it goes up and away (way away) from Lefties with little to no velo increase So in summary...pitching uphill with 81-90mph gets clobbered
