Gee, Paul, haven't we all seen enough of your "regular choices" in high-leverage situations go terribly awry? Really, what would we have had to lose? Give up, oh, say, 3 runs and the lead, because we brought in a young guy instead of the retreads? Oh, wait...

 

Dude just isn't a good manager. Needs to go.

While I haven't been the biggest fans of what they've done, I think we should wait and see how their prospects turn out. I think it'd be unwise to give up on the new regime just 2 years in... 

 

I do agree with your opinion on Molitor, but since he got a 3 year deal so recently, I believe 2019 will be his make it or break it season.

I do agree with your opinion on Molitor, but since he got a 3 year deal so recently, I believe 2019 will be his make it or break it season.

 

I hear you on the two year thing, but the relentless need, it feels like, to give minor league signings a shot over guys who have been in the organization, questionable roster moves (Romero being sent down, keeping Grossman, etc) it just seems like these guys don't really have a plan. It definitely is fair to give the guys a shot with the prospects, I just don't know if Twins fans can put up with another couple years of disappointment.

Well, the scouting director makes the draft picks.... The GM should be judged more on free agents, trades, and overall MLB success. How's that going?

I think their plan is Analytics!! but also know that having the best players helps

Well, in that case, they did a fantastic job Year 1 turning the pathetic 2016 squad into a wild card contender in 2017. Year 2's been pretty bad, but I was a fan of their FA moves. Spending just $18.5M on Morrison and Lynn looked like a dream come true... but yeah things have been bad this year, and it's on them to fix things.

 

I'll be interested to see how Year 3 goes. They'll be losing me if it trends in the direction of how Year 2 has gone.
