Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 In the movie 'Field of Dreams', the ghosts would ask “Is this Heaven?" Costner would reply “No… it’s Iowa.” As I drove through Iowa, I thought about that line. If ghosts can’t tell the difference, I may have to manage my expectations for when my time comes Click here to view the articleThis is an easy one. A ghost is simply the spirit of a deceased person who has not found rest. As in heavenly rest. The ghosts are asking if it’s heaven because they have no idea what heaven is like, having never been there. Riverbrian 1

BoofBonser Verified Member Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Lynn has gotta learn you can only play with fire for so long before you get burntI mean, when you throw 90% fastballs, you're probably going to want to get ahead early and have good command
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Why didn't we resign Bartolo instead!!??I can’t even blame them for not signing him. The guy defies logic and seemed to be wearing out towards the end of last year Danchat 1

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Why didn't we resign Bartolo instead!!??Because he ran out of gas last year and after a few good starts, he fell apart. Unless you could see the future where Colon came roaring out of the gate and Lynn was abysmal, then there wasn't any reason to.

Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Dozier’s OBP down to .333, and average to .255. His BABIP is not too much out of line for his career norms. Remind me again why he’s at the top of the lineup. Danchat and Mike Sixel 2

Whether they believed it was heaven or not, it was downtown Iowa they were looking at.I like to think that the ghosts actually thought it was hell (for obvious reasons), but asked the other way, like when someone seriously hurts them self and you immediately ask if they’re ok instead of if they’re hurt. ashbury and Riverbrian 2
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 I sent an email about this to an umpire friend. I'll see if he responds while the game thread is still active. The rule book says fair territory is from the baselines perpendicular upwards. If the ball is rolling and just nicks the base is it fair even if the ball was in contact with the ground foul?
Kyle DeBarge Wichita Wind Surge - AA 2B/CF On Friday night, DeBarge went 3-for-5 with a walk, his 17th double, and he also stole his 21st base. Explore Kyle DeBarge News >
