Great news.  He will be an asset to the Twins in the near future.  Plagued by the home run ball (25% HR/FB) but his SIERA was promising 3.77.

Glad he's back. I know we've spent a lot of time discussing drafting bullpen arms but it's amazing how many of these guys have had to deal with serious arm injuries - Bard, Chargois, Jay, Burdi - and I"m sure I"m missing several.

Hope he becomes a solid arm for us.

Excellent. I wonder where he falls in the pecking order now. I hope this Hale business isn't permanent and just a ruse to get him to AAA. I'm ready to see Bard and Reed and more of Busenitz and Curtis. Moya once again in short order as well.

In the off-season the Twins roster decisions on their high upside relief prospects were highly questionable (leaving Burdi unprotected, waiving Chargois while he still had options, and keeping Kinley). The one decision that did make sense was to leave Bard unprotected. I'm glad to see that decision worked out in the Twins favor.

A lot of those injuries were predictable (showing up in scouting reports). I remember watching Bard's video scouting report just after the draft and being surprised that his arm didn't blow up on every pitch. I am okay with him coming up and seeing if he can be successful. Worth a chance.

With our pitching failures this week, it is tempting to promote Bard to the Twins right away, but I suspect they might at least want him in AAA for awhile to evaluate his health before sticking him on the 40/25 man rosters.

Give him a couple outings in Rochester, but after that he should get called up with how atrocious the bullpen has been.
