Any chances the Twins add someone before the deadline? Would like to see some bullpen help.

The Twins do have probably the easiest schedule with just a Yankee & Indian series left and rest of month against teams under .500   The Angels are making their push for a wild card. So do the Twins just let it ride & hope the Yankees continue to fall for the last spot?

Pitching I suppose, but I am not connected to any sources yet it just doesn't seem like there are any sparks.  I'd like to ride this out in 2017, as I don't think we have the horsepower to be a serious contender to win it, while I am recently enjoying the surge.  Hey, if they make the playoffs, awesome.  Gosh, the last couple innings are painful to experience right now without Kinzler (seriously, he was somewhat 9th inning sane).  If they miss down the stretch in September, then I look to 2018.  I am OK with it, considering my 2017 expectations were a lot lower than it appears we are looking. It's not like we expect the Twins to do what the Angels did, but the FO could at least try for the sake of the fans and more importanly the team. it's also really surprising and somewhat disappointing to see the same front office that became a buyer and seller within a week (almost "trigger happy") be this quiet. It's as if they don't (truly) realize what's going down at the ballpark. Favley and Levine must be really be committed to this master plan of theirs, which isn't a bad thing thing, it's just unreasonable to expect your whole system to be apart of a world series roster (only 25 spots). IMO , whether tonight (highly unlikely) or in the offseason the Twins have be more willing to move top position players in the system for any pitching and right handed bats because chances are there wont be room for these guys.

I was hoping we'd we go after the hard hitting (right handed batter) Nicholas Castellanos, cause he would've been a steal.

And as for pitching, I was thinking R.A Dickey and any reliever available, such as lefty reliever Kevin Seigrist who was just dfa'd by the Cards after being activated off the 10 day DL (forearm arthritis). Previous years Seigrist had been even better numbers wise than kintlzer was for us this year, hitting mid 90's on his fastball (rarely touching 100). To me he has closer material. We could still get him but I don't thing he'd be eligible for the postseason, if we make it. At the same time, that might be the best thing for him since he seems like a bounce back candidate in 2018.\

Sadly the Twins FO will probably nothing.

I am pretty disappointed in this front office, Nothing? Wow.

I've been growing less and less impressed, and at this point I'm off the bandwagon.

The irritating thing is how little it typically takes to get a decent reliever. No one was expecting us to land Verlander but someone that can be a passable relief pitcher would have been nice.

Maybe in a year or two we will be in the position that Houston is in now--a young core hitting its peak years and prospects to move for supplementary pieces. I also believe that a deep playoff run is going to be about the young players on our current roster more than anything we could add, and while this month has been awesome and I'd love to see a deep run, I wouldn't bet on it

I think that's often the case, but not true this year. I don't think any relievers of note were available. All were getting blocked.

Doesn't excuse doing worse than nothing. Bring back the doddling of Terry Ryan!

Why get help when you can send Nico Goodrum out at DH in a pennant chase, and have Chris Gimenez and Adrianza hit in the 9th with the tying run on second?

Just you wait -- watch how this 9th inning will fire up the rest of the team!

I'm sympathetic to not being able to add an arm, but there were absolutely bats to be added.

Even bigget picture is that the front office has actively made the team worse over the past 5 weeks. That is a failure.

Colon did seem to give a nice veteran boost to the pitching end of things.

But the Twins badly needed a bat, and a veteran bat would've been nice (shades of, say, a Don Baylor or even a Phil Nevin). Just something different than what they have. Especially since the DH has been a weak spot all season, not to mention a bat coming off the bench. Okay, to start a Niko Goodrum or Mitch Garver in a playoff run at DH, but if the situation arise (1st and 3rd, two outs) wouldn't it be nice to have a veteran bench bat to go to just for the heck of it. Not like the Twins had a tight 40-man roster for ALL of August and enough wiggle room to add some aging big-salary slugger (again, not sure who was really available out there).

I'm still trying to figure out why Justin Morneau never returned this summer. Heard he was still in shake before the All-Star break.

But, again, it is a nice run. Who knows what taking on a bench guy would've cost the Twins in a prospect.
