I really don't, and never will, understand how it is so tiring to get to play baseball everyday. Add millions paid to do it.... and really not hard. Super easy.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Uh-ohEveryone come backnever mind False alarm
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 If they score 6 runs off the Jays bullpen and lose 10-9, I will count that as a disappointment.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 I know this bullpen is terrible....but what in Molitor's mind thought that bringing Curtiss back after last night would be a good idea? If you want to keep a 1-run lead, you use Hildenberger. Naturally, Curtiss starts with a leadoff walk on 4 pitches and those never end well. If this team misses the WC, it's going to because they have had a bunch of garbage in the pen and a manager that hasn't been able to work it well enough.and Hildenberger, arguably our best relief pitcher brought in with a three run deficit
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 tying run on first, nobody out. SO CUT WITH THE NEGATIVE WAVES, MAN!
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 They score nine freaking runs and lose. This loss again is on the HORRENDOUS bullpen and rotation that the new front office built. Unreal.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Three hit day, then that #sequencing
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Maybe the RCMP can find something on Pressley and Doof to keep them in Canada permanently.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Damn. The only thing you don't want the 23 million dollar man to do. Hit into yet another double play, and give them two outs. I guess Mauer did need the rest. Good teams don't get into the playoffs by giving away games. I don't want to see Duffey for the rest of the year.!!!!!
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Mauer.Way to go. Oh come on...that was a hell of a play by Osuna to grab that ball and then start the DP.

DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 exactly, this loss is on the pitching, not the guy who went 3 for 5 and scored 2 runs. It's on the front office, and to a lesser extent on Molitor for his managing of this bullpen.Falvey and co have done NOTHING to impress me thus far. This bullpen is a joke of the highest proportions.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 if only the twins had a shutdown bullpen like toronto's ...
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 exactly, this loss is on the pitching, not the guy who went 3 for 5 and scored 2 runs. So.... not Donaldson's fault? ......You are right of course, but ..... but.... but....... NOT A DOUBLE PLAY!
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 If only Molitor would have put in Hildenberger instead of Curtiss...... hind sight is so unfair.
Hpyeet Verified Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 the one saving grace of mauer's payroll draining contract is his defense at first. why isn't he playing in the field? unbelievable. today's game was a morale killer. wow. nice giveaway to a worse team

On turf. No way was Mauer going to play the field last night AND today.

I don't see how coming back from a 6 run deficient but coming up short is a morale killer. A real morale killer would have been a 10-2 loss, but just my opinion.
Blake Verified Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 I was miffed to have missed this game due to work. However, after checking the score, no longer miffed for the missed game.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 26, 2017 Author Posted August 26, 2017 I confess, i slept through more of the game than i care to admit. So i'll admit that i thought a charger would keep a hand held device charged, but it didn't... I gotta agree that the team probably learned more from a 9-10 loss than it would from most other scores. Not that i know what, but yeah, this team just keeps with the character building! Our character will be something to contend with soon. At least i hope so.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 26, 2017 Author Posted August 26, 2017 And speaking of character... Maybe i should do some laundry.
nmcowboy Verified Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Persistently piss poor pitching performance, perhaps?
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 If only Molitor would have put in Hildenberger instead of Curtiss...... hind sight is so unfair. I think most people would say that Curtiss hasn't earned the right to pitch in a one run game yet. And that most would have said so before the move was made.Curtiss threw 13 pitches yesterday. Hildenberger threw 1.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Seattle down 4-1 to the Yankees in the 6th. With a loss, the Twins may still be in the wild card lead after today. But first things first. Can they score 6 runs off the Jays bullpen today? Come on, Bandidou, Buck and Chulo....and "Mauer."I blame myself for not clarifying that the bullpen needed to hold them to 8.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 You did this. You made it happen....... Again, apologies. I didn't realize my own power.
