Taildragger8791 Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 They sacrificed early in the game again? Or tried? Can't wait for a new manager Not sure it was an intentional sacrifice, looked like he was bunting for a hit since it went up the 3rd baseline. I think Dozier just got gunshy after blowing 2 straight at-bats with runners on 2nd & 3rd. Didn't want to blow the next at-bat with runners on 1st & 2nd.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Odd route efficiency by the right fielder there David HK 1
David HK Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Arrrrgh-- Esco, too! But at least he worked a walk. You know, the thing is-- we SUCK at bunting, as a team. Nobody but Bartolo Colon can lay one down to move guys along anyway, so when we try bunting for a hit.... (esp. with RISP) Come on, guys. It's not like there are RBI machines anywhere in our lineup. Get it done with the bat, not the bunt.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Another guy trying to bunt his way on. Earl weaver is spinning in his graveIf he's been following the Twins, his bones have ground to dust by now Puckett34 and David HK 2
David HK Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Thank you Rosie, for not **** bunting! Yay!!! (Did ya happen to see that, Brian?)
70charger Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 That was laughably bad fielding by the Brewers. Good to know we don't have a monopoly on that.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Rosario's hit wasn't with RISP, of course, and Adrianza makes sure to lower that BA further by not getting it out of the infield.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 If we weren't so laughably bad at bunting, adrianza should have safety squeezed there David HK 1
S. Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Ha, was about to say Rosario should steal home. Then he fakes it and pitcher balks. David HK, Hosken Bombo Disco, spinowner and 2 others 5
70charger Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Hey, we'll take it. Sure haven't been getting hits with guys on third, so... take what you can get, I guess. David HK, PDX Twin and Dozier's Glorious Hair 3
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Bravo Rosario. The nearest infielder was where, behind second? Shifting for Jason Castro with two outs. Managers get too cute sometimes. adorduan, David HK, SF Twins Fan and 2 others 5

Managers get too cute sometimes.Nearest was deep short, but even still. He could've led off halfway to home and been back to third before the shortstop could've got over there. Hosken Bombo Disco 1
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Polonco sure is atoning for his error earlier. David HK 1

ashbury Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Rosario's hit wasn't with RISP, of courseWhich gets at one of the reasons I don't get too wound up about RISP numbers.
Taildragger8791 Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Opportunity for redemption here for Dozier. And no option to bunt this time. Hopefully he doesn't complete the sh*t cycle going 0/4 with 2 runners on base.
David HK Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Was that Bartman's dad? Hosken Bombo Disco 1
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 I wonder if the ump would of called fan interference if there weren't so many Brewer jerseys surrounding the guy.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Didn't get to see the Rosario-induced balk live, but it's exactly the type of thing Molitor would have done as a player. And if the pitcher hadn't balked Rosario could have stolen home because of the idiotic defensive alignment. Any smart manager knows you have to keep a runner on third base honest. Either way a run. PDX Twin Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 It's just too bad that happened in the 7th rather than the 9th. I don't remember ever seeing a "balk-off" win! Hosken Bombo Disco and Circus Boy 2

I thought he was going to try and steal home for sure. He could have gotten a 40 foot leadoff.
