I'm a Granite fan and think he has a future. But seems to me early returns are someone not yet ready or pressing. Can we just stop now with how easy it would be to trade one of our starting OF?

I was not impressed with Granite's throw to second when the runner advanced. Granite appears to have the same arm as Ben Revere.

True story:

While in Nebraska for Christmas with the extended family, I was maybe 4-5....as the minister walked down the aisle, I yelled out "here come da judge". My grandmother was not amused, and asked how often we went to church back home....

Hawwww.....

Over here, it's still AM.  I have to confess to bubbling my morning coffee into my nostrils on that one.

High Five!

Wow, Duff.

Wow, Adrianza.

Methinks it's bye-bye for Esco at the deadline-  which would make me sad, but I'd understand.

Wow, what a snag by Adrianza. That's the glove that was advertised.

Incredible! Polanco would not have made that play. I rest my case regarding how incredibly valuable it is to have a talented defensive shortstop who can really flash the glove and come up with big plays. It can save you games!

I believe I've seen, tonight, Adrianza make two plays that I'm not sure Polanco would have made. If Adrianza's bat is for real then Polanco is trade bait.

A lot of people have been maintaining he's best suited as a fourth outfielder. Such players sometimes masquerade as starters for bad teams.

And I'm gladly proven wrong

Molitor made the right call there. I guess that's why I'm not making the calls.

The both of you are being pretty gracious, considering it took a web-gem from Adrianza to make you "wrong".

OTOH if getting a play like that one is wrong, I don't wanna be right. :)

If did, but he kept the ball on the ground. I wouldn't have liked Mejia's chances of that.

The Twins seem to be able to turn around mediocre shortstops and make them viable.

Nunez went from a complete bust at SS to a viable utility guy who started to hit around .300.

Escobar was thought to be a AAAA player at best and has shown some pop and can start without being a liability.

Adrianza, if he keeps it up, is a guy who couldn't hit to save his life but now he suddenly is.

Sometimes it just takes the opportunity.

The Twins have been great at giving opportunity.

They sure have given Cooper some nice opportunities tonight.

It always baffles me when I read RBI aren't a valuable way to measure offensive production. Getting a pitch to hit, and often doing something with it, is absolutely a skill, and an important one.

Yeah the guys who have won things like triple crowns, it's hard with all of these new stats to tell if they were really that valuable to their team or not

Maybe I wasn't so wrong.

I just came back on to type the exact same thing. Guess I got ninja'd.

I wonder how many more blown 7th inning leads it'll take to get Duffey demoted to low leverage innings...
