Game Thread: Twins vs. Orioles, 7/7 @ 7:10 CDT

Bases drunk and one out. Gotta get something out of this.

[drivlikejehu]

Did Jorge lack command or does his stuff not really play? He reminded me of radke in his manner and delivery. And the moonballs come to think of it... minus the effectiveness so far.

He's not an MLB starter and really has never projected as one. He needs work to profile as a middle reliever, let alone starter.

[Aggies7]

That was a strike to Rosario. Sheesh

X2.

Gausman's got high 90's heat, but it's almost dead straight. No wonder he has to shift to his off-speed stuff.

[spinowner]

Tough move by Gimenez.

[Aggies7]

kevin looking for some gauze to stop this bleeding.

Horrendous at bat by polanco. Bad night for jorges

[BoofBonser]

I had to log on to say... wtf Polanco

[Riverbrian]

I was just thinking that I liked Polanco here because he doesn't strike out.

I'll stop thinking and go back to my normal self.

[Whammy]

Polanco, that was pathetic

[USAFChief]

I wonder how long Polanco holds onto his starting SS gig.  I lose more faith in him weekly.

[drivlikejehu]

Polanco is a pretty terrible hitter.

[Whammy]

Nice strike 2 call, ump

[Blake]

Love the way Giminez took one for the team.

[BoofBonser]

wtf Buxton

[LaBombo]

Jorge managed to pitch himself to a game score of six. So I guess that's kind of like scoring a touchdown in your NFL debut, right?

Gausman sitting at 53 and counting for the game, for anyone who is not a fan of game scores for pitchers and could use a little context.

Right there were two of the worst at bats you'll ever see at the major league level, in succession. Any momentum has been thrown in a wood chipper.

[kusko_andy]

Polanco's at-bat was pathetic.  Buxton's was almost pathetic.

It's not especially encouraging to think that his offense was supposed to be what would let him be a net asset at shortstop.

So, it wasn't just me that thought Buxton was put in a position where he pretty much thought he had to swing. That ball wasn't just a little outside. Good grief.

[drock2190]

Buxton got screwed by that strike two call. Changed the whole at bat

[Whammy]

Every series we make one hitter look like Babe Ruth on a hot streak. I guess Machado is that batter this series

Maybe, but you lose most of the benefit of the doubt when you were hitting .196 5 days ago

[BoofBonser]

Polanco, you redeemed yourself but not really... say hi

Ok, people still think Buxton can make contact in his new swing. Haha...Twins need to DFA Buxton.

[Aggies7]

The guy doesn't take his bat into the field. Allegedly.

[Whammy]

Can the trainers find a strained muscle on Polanco somewhere?

You're kidding right.....
