Is there a statistic for two-strike fouls allowed? Mejia is racking them up. Can't seem to put them away.

This is where Molitor says to Mejia, "Kid, we need to rest the bullpen. You're in it to the end."

He he.

This is where the pitching coach tells Molitor, "He's at 90 pitches, skip.  Let's see if he can get through the 5th.  Cross your fingers."

Still pretty close to a perfect game though

Molitor: Hey Turley... If it wasn't for the 2 home runs 6 hits and the additional 8.3 innings needed. You would have had a perfect game.

I worry about sending Mejia out for the 5th here.  I think it was time to call on Duffey.  Let's hope I'm wrong.

Why was Mejia grimacing after that last strikeout? Worries me a bit. When the rain started, it looked like he shortened up his stride a little, maybe to avoid slipping. Suddenly his pitches were coming in lower.

Mejia has definitely struggled this season, but it's been less than May's, Gibson's, and Berrios' rookie struggles. I think he could be a solid #4 starter once he gets used to the majors.

I suspect Mejia may be better than that. His stuff could play well enough to be a semi-ace, like a good #2 starter. If he really got himself in rock-climbing American Ninja Warrior shape...but no.

Unfortunately, the bulk of the rain is well south of Cleveland.

Charleston WV is getting soaked. It would be prudent to call this game, just to be safe. Lightning could strike at any time within a 1000 mile radius.

Maybe, perhaps, possibly....................  ;)

That's good news.

All the West Virginia locals will finally get a chance to take a shower and clean up a little.
