Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 I'm glad this potent offense has no use for Vargas. On the bright side, they do have 683 fresh bullpen arms available, should Mejia not be able to pitch into the 8th tonight. Blake, howeda7, LaBombo and 1 other 4

Blake Verified Member Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 I was unable to watch the triple play. Did Bremer survive the call?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 I was unable to watch the triple play. Did Bremer survive the call? He saw it right away. He inflected the very second the ball was hit. It was a good Bremer call. Oldgoat_MN, Hosken Bombo Disco and Blake 3

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Nothing quells the momentum of a triple play like a quick 1-2-3 inning by the offense
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 (edited) I haven't seen a Twins triple play in a long, long time. I think it was when Al Newman was playing 2nd. You almost have to have a third baseman with a rocket arm, like Sano's, or back then it was Gaetti. Edited June 2, 2017 by jimbo92107

I believe the last time I saw the Twins turn a triple play was against Cleveland and Al Newman was playing.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 Meyer through five: 5.0 4 1 1 1 3 Meyer is looking like the pitcher we wanted him to be.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Shoot, if Mejia can induce triple plays, might as well walk the first three batters and then pitch to the fourth. Save some wear and tear on the old arm. Hosken Bombo Disco 1
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 I'm actually glad to see Alex Meyer pitching well. He was snake-bit for such a long time. Maybe this time he'll finally catch on. Good luck to him. Hosken Bombo Disco, Riverbrian and snepp 3

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 Let's all be honest: Who here really expected a pitching duel? I'm not surprised. Angels are missing Trout and Maybin. And Meyer throws these types of games every once in awhile. If the game would have been 12-10 after five innings... I wouldn't be surprised by that either. Oldgoat_MN and jimbo92107 2
