It's too bad; Santiago clearly wasn't sufficiently warmed up. Everybody is exhausted, and TB's hitters are all swinging from the heels.

I had no expectations for this team going into the season. I'm getting to wound up.

 

This team has done far better than I dreamed they would, so, I need to take a deep breath.

 

(still irritating to see the Twins throw away a winnable game, but, hey, it's baseball)

They've built a respectable lead in the division about 1/4 through the season. No one had high expectations, but you can't pi** away games like this. I want to see us in the postseason whether we belong or not. Luckily we haven't had too many of these types this year. We'll see how they react to playing the best team in baseball. There should be all kinds of fines coming for the horrendous situational hitting the last few weeks, especially today.

They decreased the chances of scoring two which is fine if one doesn't result in your starting pitcher Wednsday pitching.  This isn't the 11th inning this was a game that needed to end hopefully with a win but if not oh well.

I bet Vargas had 10 swings and misses today. His AB's against Odorizzi were particularly pathetic. Unacceptable from a DH.
