This is what is frustrating with Gibson. Why is he dinking around with Yan Gomes? It seems like he always pitches well for a few innings, then wakes up and remembers he's not been any good, and starts rallies by giving up hits to weak players.

Another inning for Gibson with a crooked number that was started by someone who is almost an automatic out, then "things happen." He needs a success coach perhaps more than a pitching coach.

Gibson is the Matt Capps of the starting rotation

I'm starting to feel about him the way I felt about Pelfrey. I don't get to watch a ton of games and I get really annoyed when I do and its a Gibson game.

I'd love one of those! Oh you said, "success" coach..

Seriously it's literally impossible for him to throw a first pitch strike

Pelfrey is probably a better comparison. Or maybe Kevin correia. Or any number of the duds we've had in the last 5 years.

Do you remember when we had Sidney ponson? Oofta!

I don't know if I agree with Bert.  He keeps telling Gibson to be aggressive and trust his fastball... but his fastball isn't all that great.  He even said "look at Salazar, being aggressive, that's how you want to be".... which is easier when you can hit 97.

Aggies, can we already say this evening that you have been at an Indian Feast?

H/t Ben Franklin.

Also easier when you have a swing and miss change with a pretty good breaking ball. Gibson has a sinker which he doesn't trust, a change which he doesn't trust and a breaking ball that has a tendency to get hit pretty hard.*

*eye test hot take. I didn't look any of this up.

Anyone ever heard of the Twins or a Twins player seeking out a sports shrink? Hope someone starts dropping handfuls of business cards from a good one around the locker room, slowing down in front of Buxton's and Gibson's lockers.

For all the complaints about Gibson, it's awful to see the Twins fill the bases on offense, knock the ball all over the place, and somehow have only scored 1 run.   How the Twins managed to score just one run over those first few innings is sooooo frustrating.   The Twins just don't get those opportunities enough that they can waste them like that.  Especially with Pelfrey Lite on the mound.

I decided to listen to Dickbert tonight. They are much more critical of the players than I remember. Is this a thing now?

Im in Oregon and I watch through MLB.tv, so naturally I listen to the opposition broadcasters most of the time.

100%. The offense has been pretty brutal for most of this (young) season. One good inning last series. That's it, one. Heck, didn't Quintana stick around through the 6th on Saturday? Just simply not enough talent in the lineup at this point.

I really, really root for Gibson to succeed. But, he is at best a low end 4th starter and 5th starter if that at this point. I don't know if he will last this season as a SP and that is probably a good thing.

I do not like watching him pitch and I do not like his results and I have no confidence that he would be better as a reliever.
