I think the Sessions news belongs here, since he is apart of the executive branch, and Trump did the firing.

 

This shouldn't surprise anyone. Sessions successor has been critical of the Mueller investigation publicly. Trump should be careful with how hard he pushes.

I’m thinking ... who acts first? Is Mueller ready with endictments? Will Trump shut down or limit Mueller? Could either of these things happen tomorrow?

Why? He and others have paid no price, so far.

There hasn't been oversight. The republicans in power have been too gutless to check Trump. With the dems having control of the House, they will at least provide some checks and balance.

I'll be interested to see if they successfully subpoena Trump's tax records.

I think that's the one thing that terrifies him. My guess is it's because we'll find ties to Russia in them.

Y'all thought Watergate was a constitutional crisis, you ain't seen nothing yet. Wait until the executive branch ignores subpoenas, and any appeal to the Supreme Court is decided 5-4 against the House.

That happens... and we might witness a real constitutional crises. I highly doubt the court rules in Trump's favor on that case.

@realDonaldTrump   There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!

 

 

People have died and an entire town was destroyed, and when he finally responds this is it.   

 

Also, he is in France to supposedly honor the 100 year anniversary of the WWI armistice.  He canceled going to the cemetery due to bad weather (there is a little bit of a drizzle).  He always claims he is so pro-military, but he does things like this, and his tweet today wishing the Marine Corp a Happy Birthday is largely just a picture of him with some Marines at the very bottom of the picture looking up at him.   Not to mention how he used the armed services as a political tool in his pre-election caravan fear-mongering.

There is absolutely no way Trump wrote that.

His offers to help Pelosi gain the needed votes for the Speakership, on the other hand, are pure Trump, demonstrating his ability to play chess while his opponents are merely playing checkers. :)

I don't think he knows how to play chess. In this reference, I think it's obvious to everyone why Pelosi could be good for Trump.... Plus, he probably gets along fine with her.

So apparently members of either party can cast a vote for Speaker. Is that true? I thought it was just a majority party thing. But that helps explain all the Trump tweets about Pelosi deserving to be speaker.

 

Aside from the fact that I prefer someone other than Pelosi to be speaker, I can't picture a world where she becomes speaker with Republican votes. Oy.

Not sure why she would want Republican votes, or why she would want to upset the newly elected Democrats who pledged not to support her. There's gotta be a better solution than that.

You misunderstood what I meant. I don’t think she solicits or wants their votes. I could see the republicans supporting her to get her elected to create tension or turmoil among House Democrats.

Republicans would do well to prop up their favorite new woman punching bag. If Pelosi disappears, it will be Warren they go after. No reason to change tactics if it's working.

What I could actually see happening ... and this goes to the stupidity of Democrats ... is that they nominate two people and their votes split, and the Republican nominee becomes Speaker. I hope that doesn't happen, but, pseudo-intellectual liberals have a tendency to also vote against their own best interest and decide their 'principles' just cannot be compromised for the greater good.

How quickly did that story where Trump uses a personal cellphone which China and Russia monitor disappear?  

 

(And speaking of GOP's fake-concern for issues.  I guess we took care of that caravan thing?)
