You said it perfectly. Bruce Bochy got cute and lost the game and their season (the pitchers could have just done their job too, but still).

I don't blame Boch. But, it was a little much. Did you see Romo cracking up when they came out to give him the hook?

Bochy has done it before though hasn't he?  Manager moves are wildly overrated because of stuff exactly like this.  He did everything he could to get the best matchups and they just failed on the field.

edit: probably Cleveland. They are AL Central and have a "little guy" quality about them. And even better if they take 'em to seven games.

If I had to choose a team, it would be Cleveland for what you said. I always want to the ALC teams do well. I also like the teams from 'middle america' get in there. But I'm not a huge Cubs person. Partly because the media is salivating over it.

I'm not really cheering for or against anyone.

I want the Cubs to win it all and I prefer Cleveland over Toronto, though wont mind Toronto getting there either.

The 7th inning of the Dodgers-Nats game just took 1 hour and 6 minutes. This is the trouble with enjoying playoff baseball: too many pitching changes and way too long commercials.

Great game! Even though a low scoring 9 inning game shouldn't be 4 hours and 32 minutes. Kenley Jansen was clutch, and seeing Kershaw close it out was pretty cool.

That was ridiculous. I was driving back to Austin from Dallas, 3.5 hour drive, listening to the game. Lost signal on one radio station that was broadcasting the game. By the time we got it back, it was the top of the 8th. Couldn't believe it.

Prediction time - I am going to say Cleveland in 5.

 

Kluber pitches like the Cy Young he is, the bullpen continues to dominate, and behind it all, the mastermind Falvey figures out how Cleveland pitchers can disrupt the big swinging Blue Jay bats.

Cleveland sports: completely irrelevant for 50 years, now has a chance to have 2 different sports play for a title.

 

Minnesota is now without question the saddest sports market in the US.

How did we ever score 99 runs in that August series in Cle? Wow that was some pitching last night. Jays hitters didn't have a chance.

Always Cubs if the Braves and Twins are out. I'm a baseball fan because of a woman who bled Cubbie blue her whole life, and I'm sure she and Harry Carey have been sharing a bowl of popcorn during each game of the postseason from their eternal viewing spots.

I'm rooting for the Cubs for similar reasons (though for me it's Twins and Rockies).

Looking at Toronto out in the field on defense around the 3rd or 4th inning, they looked like they had already lost the ALCS.
