Really liked that show. The episode "A Dark, Quiet Death" is one of the finest single episodes of television in the past 20 years.

Yes, and I loved the two about the writer......like, that could have almost been a movie. And, I liked the silly ones too! Just a great show.

I wasn't really sold on the writer episodes until I saw them tied into a bow, at which point I appreciated that story arc a lot more.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Just finished Schitt's Creek.... Awesome show.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Im up to episode 7 of All of us are dead. Zombie outbreak spreads like wildfire through a Korean school. Chaos and fear, mixed with terrible bullying, fantastic show I can’t find the post, but whoever suggested Korean TV… THANKS!
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Reacher is entertaining me, even if it is simple tv. Every time someone says they'll be right back I think they'll be dead....
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 Peacemaker is pretty damn funny, and surprisingly emotional. Well, maybe it shouldn't be too surprising, James Gunn did some similar stuff with Guardians of the Galaxy.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 Mrs. Maisel picking up right where it left off....great show.

I came here with one thing to say and one to ask and you tackled half of it for me! Murderville is a fun concept on Netflix - part improv, part scripted comedy, a lot of fun. Worth a watch. I came to ask if anyone has an opinion on Righteous Gemstones and since I value your opinion highly, I'm bumping that to my next binge. Walter Goggins is a god damn national treasure, the man doesn't get nearly enough love for just how good he is.

Goggins doesn't get as much screen time in Gemstones as he did in Vice Principals but you sit up and take notice every time Uncle Baby Billy is in a scene. I don't think he was in the first three episodes of season two but he's been featured quite prominently since. Also Edi Patterson kills it in Gemstones. I guess years of improv is the only way someone could deliver the lines she has with a straight face. Thanks for the kind words and back at you. I will give Murderville a look see.
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Finally got around to watching the second season of Space Force with Steve Carrell. The last scene of the last episode - kokomo - was the funniest thing I've seen. I was literally laughing so hard, I was crying. My wife didn't think it was funny but, man, it killed me.

Spell check got you, I believe and agreed Walton Goggins is a treasure, though I am not up to date on the shows, I’m adding to me queue
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Moon Knight is great so far We are in season two of Discovery, which I really like a lot. We are about eight episodes into The Good Place, and I'm shocked at how much I love it. And yes, I know it changes a lot over time.... But I know nothing, so no spoilers please.

My wife and I really loved the characters in the Good Place. I wonder what you'll think about the series as time goes on, but we laughed a lot at the show. Good philosophical underpinnings too! I'm into Picard, I have to give Discovery a chance. (Assuming you mean Star Trek) Ditto on Moon Knight, has a cool vibe so far.

I've always wanted a Klingon based Trek, and the first year + features a ton of that.....

Anyone with a take on either of them?
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 The season finale of Maisel was one of the best single episodes of any show I've seen in awhile. That show often does better when it's lighthearted, but the finale hit all the right dramatic beats.

I'm trying hard not to judge you As for your Lasso opinion, I get it, but strongly disagree.
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Better Call Saul has returned and I couldn't be more thrilled. I've said it before in this thread but to me it's the best show on TV and I'm going to miss these characters once it wraps up. Looking forward to HBO's Barry season 3 starting on Sunday, Hacks season 2 next month also from HBO and of course the final episodes of Ozark later this month. Just to comment on some of the shows mentioned since I last posted.. There was nothing else like The Good Place on TV. Made you laugh and think. Just fantastic. Murderville was enjoyable. I would watch more if they made more. The only let down, and let down is maybe too harsh, was the Annie Murphy episode. Maybe improv isn't her thing but that one felt a little stiff. Space Force was a rare series for me in that I gave up on it after 5 episodes. It has such a strong cast so maybe it's more that it didn't meet my expectations. I'd be willing to go back and give it another try. Mrs.Maisel is probably my favourite active comedy. Tony Shalloub should get every award that exists.
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Forgot to mention Ted Lasso. Great first season. The second season I thought was still quite good but not as good as the first season. Still looking forward to a third season.
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 I enjoyed Murderville. I have to say, I'm slowly watching Mythic Quest with my son and the episode that showed CW's origin - that he took credit for Isaac Asimov's work - was the best show I've seen in a long, long time. I didn't expect an episode that serious and emotional from them. On a stupid note, there is a show called "Beforiegners" on HBO Max. The premise is beyond stupid but they play it straight. It's also in Norwegian. But it might be worth a look.
