Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 I'm outraged there is only one game thread today. Oh, and John Ryan Murphy has been called up.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 You guys might see me in the champions club during the game. I'm 5 rows back. Nice job, Santiago, giving a hr to the first batter.

snepp Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 How rare is it to have leadoff home runs from both teams?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 How rare is it to have leadoff home runs from both teams?I'm going to guess somewhere between very and pretty damn.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 How rare is it to have leadoff home runs from both teams?Less rare when one of them is Dozier.

snepp Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Less rare when one of them is Dozier. Combined with the Twins starting staff as well.
Platoon Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 I don't know if I have ever seen anyone as hot as Dozier. He seems to get one pitch in his wheelhouse every AB, and hammers about 50% of them. If I was pitching to him, I would stay off the plate away. Mistakes hit the corner. If I walk him, I walk him. I don't think he has the patience to put up with that for too long, and would expand his zone. It's only ego that makes pitchers throw him strikes. One other thing about him. He doesn't appear to work the count, he hits the first thing he likes. I just watched Plouffe take a first pitch belt high hanger the size of a watermelon. Dozier would have his AB finished on that pitch.
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 I'm going to guess somewhere between very and pretty damn.it happened during the rockies/ cubs series a couple weekends ago
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Well, I might see you there but not know its you I'm seeing.Labor day weekend of a 100 loss season. How many guys can there be in the 5th row?

spinowner Provisional Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 That Buxton sure is a bust, eh?
snepp Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Having himself a nice series.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 That Buxton sure is a bust, eh?May turn into a whole bronze statue someday.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 How rare is it to have leadoff home runs from both teams?I saw that at a game last season between the Cubs and the Nats. At least I think it was the lead off hitters. It was definitely two solo homeruns, one in each half of the first inning.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 *breathes sigh of relief every time Sano makes a play*
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 May turn into a whole bronze statue someday.we all know how a few PAs can turn 350+ PAs irrelevant :-) Also, has anyone actually called him a bust or have people said that so far he's been disappointing?
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I love how excited our announcers get over relatively routine plays.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 we all know how a few PAs can turn 350+ PAs irrelevant :-) Aalso, has anyone actually called him a bust or have people said that so far he's been disappointing?Yes. I guess that's kind of a Chief yes, but yes to both. I have seen people refer to him as a bust as well as those who think he's disappointing so far.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 oooooooooooohhhhhh
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Yes. I guess that's kind of a Chief yes, but yes to both. I have seen people refer to him as a bust as well as those who think he's disappointing so far.yeah, I've missed people calling him a bust. I've seen discussion on what expectations he'd have to get to in order to not be considered a bust (expectations keep lowering), but I haven't seen anyone say he's a bust. So, I guess I'll keep a lookout better for that.
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Does Dick realize Sano DHd most of last season when he tore up the league?
mickeymental Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 shades of mount crushmore.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 You'd never know by reading the game thread that Sano just hit a monster 600 foot home run a few minutes ago.
