I have been since graduating from college, but I grew up in the Ely area about 90 miles north of Duluth.

Bet you had some beautiful aurora viewing up there.

You've earned my trust and that is where I will go... at your suggestion.

You meant Kansas City, Kansas, right? That's where Joe's is.  Q39 is in KC Missouri.

I have eaten at both. Love both.

Ely with all those lakes... Always looked like a nice area of Minnesota to grow up.

But then again... with all those lakes... My Car probably would have ended up in one of them.

I  could kind of see you taking a dare to drive your car on a frozen lake in mid to late April.

Tomorrow morning I'm driving to Dallas

Planning on stopping for the night in Kansas City

I've done Arthur Bryants

What Barbecue place should I try?

Off the Bone Barbecue... The brisket is great (ask for burnt ends) and their sausage is very good as well.

I'm jealous. Been a while since I've been to Ely. We usually head up the north shore and tool around there. My wife won't camp, so that's as close as I get much of the time. It's always hard to come home from up there.

We went off of the Arrowhead trail north of Grand Marais last weekend, so not exactly where I grew up, but still God's country.

I actually grew up in a town called Babbitt about 20 miles from Ely, but I usually say the Ely area, because people are much less likely to have heard of Babbitt unless they are big fans of taconite mining of the 1970s.

Funny - Ely and Babbitt were much closer than a lot of suburbs in the Cities, but if we wanted to call my grandparents in Ely, it was long distance and so was Embarrass, which was only separated from Babbitt by a dirt road.

Plouffe having a good night.

Let's check that sarcasm detector.

He did make a really nice defensive play to hold a runner at third earlier, somewhere in between all the walks and wild pitches that ultimately rendered the play meaningless.

True, he did field that ground ball.
