AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 I can't start threads from my phone: Game #118 Royals (56-60)Edinson Volquez ® Twins (47-70)Hector Santiago (L) 1. Paulo Orlando ® CF2. Cheslor Cuthbert ® 3B3. Lorenzo Cain ® RF4. Eric Hosmer (L) 1B5. Kendrys Morales (S) DH6. Salvador Perez ® C7. Alex Gordon (L) LF8. Alcides Escobar ® SS9. Christian Colon ® 2B 1. Brian Dozier ® 2B2. Robbie Grossman (S) LF3. Joe Mauer (L) DH4. Kennys Vargas (S) 1B5. Max Kepler (L) RF6. Jorge Polanco (S) 3B7. Eduardo Escobar (S) SS8. Juan Centeno (L) C9. Eddie Rosario (L) CFGametime Forecast: 78°F • Clear Twins have 8 of 9 lefties in the lineup. Quiz: Who could they add to the lineup and get it to 9? Volquez is actually pitching better against lefties than against righted this year. Hector Santiago is going for his first win for the Twins. Should we start a Nolasco vs Santiago watch? Suzuki is not in the line-up, and may be claimed this afternoon and traded in the next 1-2 days. Prediction contest on where he lands, and what the return is? My guess: Cleveland, for a C prospect. Go Twins!

AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Author Posted August 14, 2016 I don't know what kind of Internet sorcery that was, but nice work. That last question mark was meant to be an an exclamation. Bonus quiz: how many righties could the Twins trot out in a line-up?

hybridbear Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 For the pre-game interview for the Spanish broadcast today Alfonso Fernandez had Jorge Polanco as his guest. He asked Polanco what the hardest part has been for him this year. Polanco paused (it was a long pause for radio) and then said "defense". I thought that was interesting that Polanco recognizes defense as being his current weakness. I hope that he is working hard to improve so that he can be an MLB starter next year.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 "Should we start a Nolasco vs Santiago watch?" Oh, god no. Suzuki has caught 3 games in a row. Standard day off.

With Rosario & Kepler both batting lefty, you can't rest them both without putting someone like Escobar out there. Edit: the silly computer turns ( R ) into the ® registered trademark symbol lol
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Rosario was sooooo close to catching that one.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Very close, but he looks out.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 i hate instant replay......
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Author Posted August 14, 2016 No way to get 3 non-left outfielders unless you put infielders out there. lYou say that as though that were unheard of! How many starts has Escobar gotten in the OF this year and last? For the all-lefty line-up, I would think Polanco at 2B, DSan at SS would be the more standard lineup, right?
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Buxton couldn't bunt if he used both hands
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 DOZIER 101 !! http://www.wibc.com/sites/g/files/exi441/f/article-images-featured/495541-305026.jpg

HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Tie game up, give it away next inning. Santiago leaves a lot of pitches up in the zone.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Well that sucks! Doing damage with two outs!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 So much for trading Dozier... I'd rather keep the guy! That's 26 HRs and he was terrible for two full months!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Imagine finally moving nolasco and still downgrading. Santiago is stinky
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Good God this Santiago is a turd!
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 So, O'Rourke gets called up to be Santiago's personal reliever??
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 So much for trading Dozier... I'd rather keep the guy! That's 26 HRs and he was terrible for two full months! We can trade Polanco this winter. Dozier's contract looks great now!
