I can't start threads from my phone:

Game #118

Royals (56-60)

Edinson Volquez ®

Twins (47-70)

Hector Santiago (L)

1. Paulo Orlando ® CF

2. Cheslor Cuthbert ® 3B

3. Lorenzo Cain ® RF

4. Eric Hosmer (L) 1B

5. Kendrys Morales (S) DH

6. Salvador Perez ® C

7. Alex Gordon (L) LF

8. Alcides Escobar ® SS

9. Christian Colon ® 2B

1. Brian Dozier ® 2B

2. Robbie Grossman (S) LF

3. Joe Mauer (L) DH

4. Kennys Vargas (S) 1B

5. Max Kepler (L) RF

6. Jorge Polanco (S) 3B

7. Eduardo Escobar (S) SS

8. Juan Centeno (L) C

9. Eddie Rosario (L) CF

Gametime Forecast: 78°F • Clear

Twins have 8 of 9 lefties in the lineup. Quiz: Who could they add to the lineup and get it to 9?

Volquez is actually pitching better against lefties than against righted this year.

Hector Santiago is going for his first win for the Twins. Should we start a Nolasco vs Santiago watch?

Suzuki is not in the line-up, and may be claimed this afternoon and traded in the next 1-2 days. Prediction contest on where he lands, and what the return is? My guess: Cleveland, for a C prospect.

Go Twins!

You actually can ... but this worked because I can split threads to create a new one. So together we got it done. :)

I don't know what kind of Internet sorcery that was, but nice work.

That last question mark was meant to be an an exclamation. Bonus quiz: how many righties could the Twins trot out in a line-up?

1?

For the pre-game interview for the Spanish broadcast today Alfonso Fernandez had Jorge Polanco as his guest. He asked Polanco what the hardest part has been for him this year. Polanco paused (it was a long pause for radio) and then said "defense". I thought that was interesting that Polanco recognizes defense as being his current weakness. I hope that he is working hard to improve so that he can be an MLB starter next year.

DanSan at 2B & Dozier getting a day off would get the Twins 9 lefty batters against a RHP.

Against a LHP

  1. Plouffe 1B ®
  2. Dozier 2B ®
  3. Escobar SS (S)
  4. Sano 3B ®
  5. Grossman LF (S)
  6. DanSan CF (S)
  7. Kepler RF (L)
  8. Suzuki C ®
  9. Vargas/Polanco DH (S)

No way to get 3 non-left outfielders unless you put infielders out there. With Rosario & Kepler both batting lefty, you can't rest them both without putting someone like Escobar out there.

Edit: the silly computer turns ( R ) into the ® registered trademark symbol lol

You say that as though that were unheard of!

How many starts has Escobar gotten in the OF this year and last?

For the all-lefty line-up, I would think Polanco at 2B, DSan at SS would be the more standard lineup, right?
