Yesterday, we discussed counting sheep, to go to sleep, but there was nary a peep, of why we keep, using sheep to sleep.  

 

So:

 

Ants.

Why not count ants?  I've tried.  The thing is, at first, they go marching by one by one.  Easy to count, even if they're a bit small. Hurrah!  But then, next thing you know, they're going by two by two.  Harder.  Then three by three, and now the math is near impossible.  Who can count by threes?  Nobody.   Forget ants.

 

Chickens, maybe?

The thing with chickens, though, is you can't count em till they're "hatched."  And as we all know, "Hatch" is a town in New Mexico famous for green chiles.  Now, I love me some green chiles, but they tend to keep me up at night.  Kind of defeats the purpose, yaknowwhatimsayin??   Forget chickens.

Turns out, you CAN count crows.  But it might keep your neighbors up at night, so I don't recommend it.  Unless, of course, you don't like your neighbors, in which case, get off my lawn!

 

So we're left with the wisdom of the ages...sheep.  Just count sheep, and don't worry about fixing things that ain't broke.
