Gonsalves Promoted to Double-A

Most minor league fans knew this was coming especially with the FSL All-Star Game in the rear view mirror.

 

The Miracle just announced that Stephen Gonsalves has been promoted from Fort Myers to Chattanooga. He will join fellow top prospect Kohl Stewart in the Lookouts rotation.

 

Both of these gentlemen were feature in my updated Top-10 Prospect List following the MLB Draft a couple of weeks ago.

 

Tyler Jay will likely be the next member of the Miracle to get the bump up to Double-A.

What about Jorge?  I haven't looked at numbers recently but I think he might be doing better than any of the other pitchers at High A.  Hopefully there is room for the Fabulous 4 to all make it to AA this year.

Good for him.  I haven't read any updated scouting reports on him but he certainly dominated A+ ball.  Glad that he'll get a shot at AA.  And he's still only 21.

That's good news for sure. From the sound of things Gonsalves has improved the quality of both his fastball and his secondary stuff (most notably his curveball). He may struggle some with control and command, but from the sound of things he's real smart and can continue to get better. Think Scott Baker with better overall stuff.

Very excited for Lamonte Wade to move up a level.   Hopefully he reaches AA by the end of the year, although doubtful.

I'd guess Wade spends the rest of the year in FTM.....I don't really see anyone on this list moving up another level this year, unless there is an injury, or a pitcher comes up a level for a spot appearance or some bullpen time.

Blankenhorn is in Elizabeth and Cabbage is in the GCL.  I would have thought the other way around.

Completely agree. I do not understand Cabbage in GCL at all but this may be just pending other moves.

I thought Blankenhorn out performed Cabbage last season (even though Cabbage from what I read is the better prospect).

I'm sorry, if you need to repeated GCL at age 19, you are not a prospect. He better rake and get called up or I'm writing him off
