I didn't switch to the game until later.  I figured the game would be in the 5-6th inning.  It as only the 3rd and the Twins had a 3 runs on the board and Fernandez had this befuddled look on his face.

Glorious !!

Dean looked incredible:  moving the ball around, changing speeds  Sano looked really comfortable last night.  I think he, and the rest of the team, may be turning the corner.  3 in a row?      :go:

I'm a little surprised that the combination of Chief's warning, Plouffe's plopout and subsequent mysterious disappearance did not result in a single comment or conclusion that Plouffe was pulled because of his previously scheduled colonscopy.

To be fair, there were a few references to him pooping himself.

I think that counts.

I couldn't post last night as the reply box didn't show, just gray area.  But it was a treat to see Dean disect the plate and have hitters off balance all night.  And I was so happy Jepsen didn't come in for the 9th.

I almost hate to ask this - have we won three in a row since that four game winning streak back when the earth was young?

A big negatory on that.

OK, speaking of marginal players, I understand the love for Beresford, but he is at best a utility guy. On a team that thought it had a chance, he wouldn't be worth losing a 40-man spot to give him a shot in the majors. The Twins have 12 wins on Memorial Day weekend, so the scenario is different and maybe it is a chance to reward Beresford with some big league pay and meal money.

Robby Grossman is interesting to me. How many left handed throwing switch hitters are there? I can think of a couple, but not many.

From wikipedia:

Most switch-hitters have been right-handed throwers, though–among other exceptions–there have been the following players: Lance Berkman, Dave Collins, Doug Dascenzo, Mitch Webster, Wes Parker, Melky Cabrera, Nick Swisher, Justin Smoak, David Segui, Daniel Nava, and J. T. Snow (who, in the final years of his career, hit exclusively left-handed).

Hold on, hold on, hold on. With last night's win, that makes three straight...series that the Twins have not been swept! Baby steps, baby steps.

Plus Dean with 8/0 K/BB performance, has any Twin pitcher come close to that all year?

That's a rhetorical question, right?

Why do the Twins manage to play two good games when they're on the west coast so the games are played in the middle of the night?? So frustrating!
