I remember a game when I was a tyke and there was a manual scoreboard but only had numbers 0-9. Well one team scored an ungodly number of runs in the first inning, and then a couple innings later the game was in the 30s, and one of the rows just had 999's across it even though most of the runs were in one inning.  Except they probably ran out of 9's too. My memory is slightly imperfect.

The first inning tonight was hell. You positive you'd put up with that, for 20+ additional starts if that's how it went?

 

Yeah... I'd allow... maybe one more time but I don't think it will remain this bad. A's had a similar issue with that Manaaaaaaa Kid.

In all seriousness... I wouldn't do that. 

 

I was all for Buxton going down when he was striking out 50% of the time. 

 

With Berrios he has had a few bad innings and a lot of good innings. Granted... this last inning was real bad but I'd like to see him try and work through this at the MLB level.

 

I'd keep Duffey and Berrios in the rotation come hell or high water for the rest of the year and pick one of the vets for the bullpen. I don't care who.

 

Completely agree. While this was bad, so are seasons long mediocre performances. You can either lose with no chance of improving, or you can lose with a chance of getting better. I don't know if May, Meyer, Berrios, Duffey, Burde, Chargois et could lead us to some playoff runs, but I can almost guarantee that Hufhes, Nolasco, Jepsen, etc won't.
