Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Berrios has had 3 starts. While the final lines haven't been the best, he's had stretches where he looks in control, and clearly can already miss more bats than any other pitcher in our rotation. This kid is going to be a star, where did this demand for instant gratification come from? I used to think we had smarter baseball fans than this.My post was 90% frustrated sarcasm

LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Sano, Park, Arcia 0-8, 5 Ks. Maybe they should be hitting 7-8-9. Like French military uniforms, Suzuki batting 6th or higher is a universally recognized sign of surrender.

It's been a rough night for me.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 In play, run(s) please.I remember when game day was my only option to follow the game. I also remember having to refresh the twins home page to see the line score.
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Just finished my 2017/2018 draft post and checked on the game for the first time. Plouffe doesn't look hurt.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Berrios looked pretty decent overall tonight, the flashes are certainly there. Might take a year or two for him to "live" up to his potential, but thats ok when you are talking about a guy who is making his major league debut like 5 or 6 years quicker than Gibson and a lot of other SP do. The future is bright for him (if he can stay healthy) Gausmas looked solid as well, he is one of those guys I really wanted the Twins to make a run at last year/this offseason when the Orioles were a bit down on him and they could have gotten him for a decent price tag. Archie Bradley and Trevor Bauer are two similar pitchers I would look to acquire as well.
Platoon Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 I've been pretty unimpressed with Berrios. I thought he threw harder than this. He does, but they don't allow it on the big club!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Let's all have a moment of thought about how far we've come in following the twins: (from April 1998)

I remember waiting for the pterodactyl to overfly the town square and drop a small granite tablet with a 'W' or an 'L' on it 4 hours after the game was over. Edit: And yes, you're right, whoever was about to post it: being hit in the head by falling chunks of granite explains a lot about 'crazy old LaBombo'.

David HK Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Man, the heat just keeps on coming out of the O's pen. 95 upstairs, whew... Where are our guys like this?
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 In games that actually probably matter: Capitals have come back from 3-0, it's 3-2 now and they have a 5-3 PP with 8 minutes left. Great game to watch.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 You know your team lacks meaningful history when they bring up a grand slam in a game from 34 years ago that the twins ended up losing easily, not once but twice.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 A hit on an 0--2 pitch to start the 8th. Chief disapproves.

DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 3-3 Caps, still with 1 minute left on power play.
David HK Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Heh... and just as Dave W brings it up, Caps score, and still on PPlay
