I don't think it's any secret that ChiTown has some growing up to do.... I've also heard that North has been isolated deep in the Manitoba forest to fight grizzly bears, increase the velocity of beers per game thread, and read up on witty replies for the game threads.

is there any truth to the rumor that North was attacked by Mama Grizzly and will have to crawl to the North Star Line, and then Light Rail to make a July game?

Personally I lost 3 pounds over Thanksgiving (not sure how) gained two before Christmas, lost 5 between Christmas and New Years (this confused me too) gained 3 in Jan., 3 in Feb. and held even in Spring Training...

On the other hand I prepared for a transition to the outfield by playing basketball with my homies 3 days a week.

The confusion is caused by weighing yourself to often!

All I know is North built a cabin deep in the woods.. Sometime around February when it was -60 outside he was becoming stir crazy. Posting on every thread "All work and no play makes North a dull boy."

Since then.... who knows.

Hey Vanimal, great to see the network brought you back for Season 2.

As one of your overseas listeners, I was thinking about the little differences between our worlds:

In your world it's Spring, but in mine it's Fall

In your world it's night, but in mine it's day

In your world Ricky Nolasco is a starting pitcher, but in mine. Wait. Stop there. Too weird, let's move on.

Anyway, question for you: can the Twins get triple digit strikeouts from every position this year? And which TD Game Threaders can get triple digit whiffs on their one-liners?

Sydney! Welcome back to the show! I'm glad the network renewed Whine Line for a 2nd season too! Though we were told that we'd get a new studio from Brock... still hasn't happened yet.

Can you tell us how the summer is going to go in the US since you already lived through it?

To answer your questions, the Twins can ABSOLUTELY get triple digit strikeouts from every position this year. I already have my WS tickets purchased too.

The best one-liners in game threads today have to go to North, Chief, Brian, and SampleSizeofOne. All of them are ELITE and at the top of their games.

Van, my man:  big time sports radio, in addition to the scorching hot takes, usually features free stuff. Giveaways.  "Fifth caller gets this."  "Ninth caller gets that."  "Sign up on the show page to win 2 free tickets to this weekend's big tractor pull at the civic center/airport/tire shop"

etc etc.

When can we expect similar free swag here on the whine line?

Vanimal, I realize I am not a great professional mind like those that inhabit the front office. In fact one poster has accused me of writing from my moms basement. At one time that was true, but she has asked that I move to the fruit cellar, she said the neighbors were starting to talk! But I digress. Since pitch to contact, and swing and miss have such a negative connotation, is it possible that the Twins have gotten confused? It was my understanding "Snapper Mow em Down" innings were sposed to be when we were in the field!

I heard Vanimal is very close to signing a promotional agreement with Chipotle! It was supposed to be already finished but it seems the Chipotle CEO came down with some form of stomach flu. Reports have him back at work in 7-10 days!

When are you going to front the bill? We ALL remember you took home $34 million from Moderator-Gate 2015! All I asked for is a new studio, and I'm still broadcasting from a broom closet!

Thanks for the call Platoon. There was a stat released last year that 62% of all TD members lives in their parent's basement. Just be thankful you're one of the 38% contributing in the world! To answer your question, the swing and miss philosophy can be VERY complicated. Especially when you present that philosophy to the wrong people on the team. I think we've all walked in on a meeting or a class we didn't belong to in our day. Is it possible that the coaches walked into the wrong conference room and presented their CHALK TALK findings to the fielders instead of pitchers? Yes, yes it is.

You remember wrong, friend.

$34 million gross, not take home. Taxes, agents, posse, etc etc.

How are you s'posed to feed a family on that?

Mine, too? I lost 5 between annual doctor's visit. You can't tell, but her scale doesn't lie.

I thought I lost 5 pounds but I found where it was when I looked at my backside in the mirror.

It was in the mirror? Hmm ...

My psychiatrist told me that looking at my backside in the mirror is a sign of insecurity! But I'm not sure about that?

Turns out chief is actually former Timberwolf Latrell Sprewell. I would not have guessed that.

I didn't realize your mission was so illegal that you needed a Saul Goodman to launder the money! Should I start to "tread lightly", Mr. White?

ANNND Welcome back! To day 2 of Minnesota Twins Whine Line. A couple of margaritas turned into beer, and, well, you know the rest.

I'm broadcasting LIVE in the Hammond Stadium parking lot! I think I may be the first media member down here at Spring Training, as it's pretty quiet around these parts. I spoke with Billy, who's a parking lot attendant, where he said "You're too late. They're already gone." There's no possible way I was duped again.... right? It feels like deja vu all over again with the Nigerian Prince...

Anyways, let's check in with the regulars on this show and see what they want to talk about today!

He's playing out the longest April Fool's Day joke of all time! Chief takes every old age joke thrown at him in stride... Meanwhile he's the one laughing because he's 45 years old! Well played, Chief. Well played indeed.

Vanimal,

Just want to let you know how much I enjoy your live remotes from ST. Have you seen Sid anywhere? Whenever anyone asks me "Who is Vanimal? What is Whine Line?" The only comparable I can come up with is Sid, and the late great radiocast "Sports Hero". You two are the epitome of the broadcast profession. :)

Thanks for the call Platoon. I have not seen Sid yet, but I did catch up with his wife! She's down here in Ft. Myers watching her favorite ball club too! I let the intern get her 15 minutes of fame while I recorded the video...

Hi Van,

Can you comment on the Nick Punto signing?

Thanks for the call diehard. I don't think there's anyone on planet Earth that's more PUMPED UP than me about this signing. We were all clamoring for a bunt specialist this off-season, and Punto's the best in the business. Because of this, I'm going to call it - Punto will win the AL MVP! Coming in a close second is Nick's choice, Miguel Sano....

Hey Vanimal.  First time caller.  I just wanted to I'm enjoying the spring training coverage.

Can I get your opinion on this?  I figure the Twins seem to making a push this year, judging from the Nick Punto signing and all.  Don't you think they should go all in and go get Mark DeRosa?

If they refuse to go get DeRosa, I'm just going to assume it's the FO being cheapskates again.

Since Duensing has been released, he is available. Do you think the Twins should re-sign him so we can trade him for someone, and would it be a good trade? I think a Kuechel for Duensing trade (we might have to throw in Punto) would put the team in the WS!

Thanks for calling the show James. When TD gave me the opportunity to visit spring training I knew I had to jump on it! To answer your question, I think DeRosa is a STRONG candidate to sign with the Twins. Him and Punto at the top of the order.... look out AL Central!

I also hear that they want another LH starter, just in case if Milone doesn't work out. You'll never believe this, but I ran into David Wells at the Roadhouse Cafe! He's in the worst shape of his life, but assured me that he can still drink beers and pitch with the best of them. He's my dark horse for a late Twins signing...

Wow ... I didn't realize the minor leaguers left, too. You should go find Bob Sacamento. Maybe he'll take your picture, or shoot some video of you in the parking lot, and put it in one of his 'Behind the Fences' blogs.

i'm craving me some walleye on a stick. is this normal?

Mickey! Welcome back to the show. Craving walleye on a stick is a perfectly natural thing to do. I crave walleye a lot down here in Texas. No walleye in sight, I tell ya. It's been about a year since I made my way back to the motherland of 10,000 lakes. When I was there, I had walleye for 3 meals! Please ship whatever walleye you have to Texas please!!
