Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I can't stand current country music, but I do enjoy the old time country music. Haggard, Conway Twitty, and Waylon Jennings IMO are the Mount Rushmore of country music.
biggentleben Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I swear I had him on one of my lists one year, but he didn't make the cut this year. He was on a preliminary list... Solid performer and musician. Sad to hear.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Since you only listed three I'm gonna assume George Jones or Johnny Cash are the 4th.Hank Williams might have a slot somewhere, too.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Hank Williams might have a slot somewhere, too.I'd put Patsy Cline above all of them.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Another great gone, Haggard was a true legend. Going to be sad when Willie goes, not too many left.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Another great gone, Haggard was a true legend. Going to be sad when Willie goes, not too many left. For those pools that count points based on age, is there any definitive info on what time of day he was born and what time of day he passed away? You never know when a contested point turns out to decide the season standings.
biggentleben Verified Member Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I'd put Patsy Cline above all of them. And perhaps Loretta Lynn. I know he's modern, but Garth has really done a lot within the country realm to bridge it from the 80s where few people were listening to the modern brand, which I'm not completely a fan of, where huge stadiums are sold out by country acts who aren't even topping the charts. The Chris Gaines thing even was fun for what it was.
biggentleben Verified Member Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Will Smith, 34, former defensive end for the New Orleans Saints. Tragic and senseless death.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Doris Roberts died today.Wasn't too familiar with much of her work but she was damn funny on Everybody Loves Raymond.
