I can't stand current country music, but I do enjoy the old time country music. Haggard, Conway Twitty, and Waylon Jennings IMO are the Mount Rushmore of country music.

Another great gone, Haggard was a true legend. Going to be sad when Willie goes, not too many left.

For those pools that count points based on age, is there any definitive info on what time of day he was born and what time of day he passed away? You never know when a contested point turns out to decide the season standings.

I'd put Patsy Cline above all of them.

And perhaps Loretta Lynn. I know he's modern, but Garth has really done a lot within the country realm to bridge it from the 80s where few people were listening to the modern brand, which I'm not completely a fan of, where huge stadiums are sold out by country acts who aren't even topping the charts. The Chris Gaines thing even was fun for what it was.

Donny Everrett died yesterday. I don't know if he is exactly a celebrity, but I had been following his career since he was a junior in high school.
