But they do, beating Chris Sale(bon-a-fide ace?) 5 out of 6 starts and the last 5 in a row...........if we make it we deserve it, if we dont, then we dont........but I am surprised that you even think we have the talent to be competitive, so we should be a team that loses 90 plus again.

That may be a valid point, in a conspiracy-theorist sort of way.  Maybe he didn't get a playoff clause in his contract, and this is his way of dissing the Pohlad's....

Remember people calling for Achter's promotion to the Twins a few weeks ago and complaining because the team thought his stuff might not play in the big leagues?  Maybe the Twins talent evaluation team is better than we think.  

People weren't calling for Achter specifically as much as saying the Twins needed bullpen reinforcements. Barring an acquisition or a starter conversion, Achter was an easy one to try, which they finally did in August and I thought he more or less failed the audition in low-leverage situations.

 

Not sure why he's first out of the pen and stretched multiple innings twice in very winnable games this week.  And it's not like that void on our staff is sudden and unexpected either.

Also isn't the point of having a 6 man rotation is that it allows you to bring in one of your starters in a situation like that? Instead of relying on a dude with a 5.50 era?

Nope.  Gotta give the 6th starter a rehab start at the MLB level first.
