Game Thread: Twins @ Rays, 8/26, 6:10pm

I'm all for Buxton bunting as much as possible because he turns sacrifices into hits

Don't forget Dozier.

[ScrapTheNickname]

The comment about never having been asked to bunt in the minors is weird, though. The kid was down there preparing to be a major league player, not to act like a minor leaguer. Kee-Ryst.

[Hrbowski]

The Rays announcers think that you are supposed to say "Paul Maulitoor."

[Turd Furgeson]

Buxton is about the only exception I can see for bunting because he has 80 speed. The Dozier bunt was completely nonsensical.

[David HK]

Wow- a late inning lead.  I'm making a plea to the heavens that Boyer stays on his comfy seat in that BP area.

[Ultima Ratio]

My least favorite thing about Punto was his 'fake hustle' baserunning.

On a popup he would run hard until the out was recorded, with total disregard for where he'd have ended up on a misplay.

What friggin' good does it do to get thrown out at second on the off chance that a fielder does muff a routine play?

Oh, you don't know about moral victories?

That's sooooo Continental.

[Squirrel]

Geez, what a game not to be able to watch more closely.

[Gibby]

The warning track looks like burnt orange shag.

[TwinsCD]

3 outs away from Kate Upton leaping for joy.

It is to go with the 70's style lime / dark green outfield

But it really ties the room together?

[Hrbowski]

Verlander has a no no through eight.

[Circus Boy]

Golly, winning streaks are fun. Looked up when the Twins won their 64th game last year, and it took an extra 26 games to do so. This has been the most enjoyable season in many years.

[Squirrel]

Okay, sing it with me now ... 'Take me out to the ball game, take me out with the crowd ...'

That's what was bugging me--  takes me back to our living room in the 70's!  Repressed memory, I guess.

I don't mind it as much...I guess. But dozier? Give me a break, he shouldn't bunt unless it's 0-0 in game 7, 9th inning of the World Series with a guy on 2nd.

I was a bit premature in my posting.  No surprise since the post involved Kate Upton.

Um, it's the 7th inning, you're now leading the GOTG standings tonight CB.

I'm actually not far from there currently, just down south a bit.

Ahhhhh, memories.  (except it was the 10th but who's counting?)

[Intramural Legend]

Am I missing something, or do we still have 3 legitimate bullpen arms waiting to pitch?

[Squirrel]

Sigh.

[twinsnorth49]

Duensing suddenly loses his cloak of invisibility.

P.S. You can google pictures of Kate Upton to your heart's content. Nuff said.

[David HK]

Ummmm.... exactly why is Dunse in the ball game?  FFS, Molly.  We get a lead on Archer for once, and you just wanna give it right back.  Where's that smiley with the one digit raised?

[DaveW]

Why is duensing still in the game? Why is Boyer warming up?

[Intramural Legend]

Boyer?? Why? Are one of the others unavailable tonight?

[twinsnorth49]

Oh, there's Duensing.
