twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Oh dear, that wasn't pretty.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 That's how ole Earl Weaver used to do it.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Did anyone not see that HR coming?yep but it left so fast it was hard to see it going.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 That was quick. How many homers have in a row have the Twins allowed with runners on?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Who would have thought leaving all those baserunners would have been important.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 It's up to the pen to hold this deficit so we can string a few to together and come back. (Pause) I can't believe I just typed "Up to the Pen"
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Wow, Baltimore sure figured out Tommy Milone.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 And it was yet again, a multi-run HR.

David HK Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I will be absent from the thread tonight as I am attending the hometown Billings Mustangs take on the Missoula Osprey tonight. The Mustangs are a rookie league affiliate of Reds, and the Osprey of the Diamondbacks. Let's go Twins! Let's make it a perfect 2-0 with Buxton and Sano in the lineup! Good on ya, Swain, great opening salvo. Not bad fer a guy from Monta-a-a-a-a-na. And good to jog memory lane with the old-timers. One of my favorite Twins memories is listening to Herb Carneal's call when Rich Reese hit a grand slam off McNally to end his record-setting winning streak in '69. Still remember it, word for word. And, by golly, didn't we here in Twinkie land loathe the O's back then? After what they did to us in 69 and 70? Grrrrrrr..... Sorry, joining late today, now back to the action. Sheesh, 7 hits and 1 stinkin' run. (CBU of sorts).
David HK Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Chalk one up to Fien. Now the batters gotta do their share...I like this new Fien guy. Lately, he kind of reminds me of this Fien guy we used to have the last couple of years.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Wow, Baltimore sure figured out Tommy Milone.Tommy helped a little, particularly to Parra.
David HK Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 And it was yet again, a multi-run HR.Yep. Didn't bother me too much when Hughes would give up a dinger, cuz it was usually a solo shot. But lately.... Katie bar the door. Salami's and 3-run jobs galore. Those things are heart-, back-, and ball-breaking.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Good baserunning by Hunter to get to 2nd
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 That hurts when you are old
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Good thing we have bench options.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Gutty effort this inning against a tough reliever.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 That's the second solid hit by Suzuki tonight

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Alert are the baserunners. We got us a lead... Now it's back on the pen's shoulders. I'm sure the pen is up to it!
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Er, I mean good thing Suzuki is batting.
David HK Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Holy..... look at the old man go!
David HK Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Is it too much to ask for a banjo- dinger outta Nunez? I have a feeling we'll need more than 1 here.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Who's closing tonight? I'm guessing Jepsen since May is warming now.
Jerr Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Bullpen? Depending on it?Ok......lolWe got the Birds and shut that door that leads to a loss.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 This inning is classic! It reminds me of old theater shirts with a claim to the effect of "we've been doing so much with so little for so long we can practically do anything with nothing."
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Er, I mean good thing Suzuki is batting. HA... The Hawaiian burns the Canadian
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 So that wasn't a pitchers call?
