Outsourcing and the hiring of illegal immigration should not be options for the American businesses that profit off our consumerism and legal protections.  A corporation is a public trust that should be revoked when it takes steps like these.   In fact, I'd be in favor of criminalizing such steps.

OK well, luckily for you there is one candidate who promises to:

build a wall with Mexico (and make them pay for it)

deport the illegals here

raise tarriffs on Chinese made products, thus addressing outsourcing.

I don't think one worker is more efficient than 1.5 workers, but that doesn't have to be the comparison anymore, since they will have to choose between a $15/hr of both options.

I don't think that's how illegal labor works.

Not sure where this all went wrong, it kinda sounds like you think companies who pay illegals are still beholden to the min. wage, and not the black market wage. That price would be impacted by a change in supply-demand of jobs and labor, but still independent of the min. wage, no?

Yeah, and seeing as that delusional and self-serving candidate is demanding this, it kind of proves the lunacy behind the belief that these ideas couldn't or shouldn't be considered.

I was thinking more illegal immigrants using falsified (or unchecked) docs and the like - basically workers that will work the toughest jobs for the lowest wages. Migrant workers don't really apply, and there is a black market for labor that goes way beyond just illegal immigration.

Also why I threw in the enforcement of labor laws as part of it. Punishing companies that hire illegal immigrants harder would do more for stopping illegal immigration flow as anything, and is something I would personally endorse much more than trying to stop immigration.

Oh my bad.  Wouldn't want to suggest he's said anything crazy.

Suggesting that he said something crazy is fine because he has, but misquoting him is out of line.

Legal immigration is fine and I am for it, but there is no reason why we shouldn't try to stop illegal immigration.

Adding the lack of taxes into play (I'm sure they would love to pay taxes, but the IRS might catch the illegal wage) it's closer to 2-1 between the under the table $10 an hour and the legally mandated $15 an hour.

Well the easiest way to stop illegal immigration is to make legal immigration or at the very least asylum much, much easier. Seeing that the politicians most opposed to illegal immigration are also opposed to sweeping immigration reform except to make it stricter, it's hard to take them seriously when they say they support legal immigration.

I guess I don't see why it's awesome that he has an argument with Megan Kelly and pouts about it publicly.

What am I missing?  Sarcasm?

That statement didn't make you chuckle? Even a little?

I can't get too worked up about a Republican candidate tweaking Fox News. Oh no, whatever will we do without a seventh debate...

Posted

I mean, yeah, the debates are over done ratings grabs.  But how is that any different than Trump as a candidate really?

Yeah, he's poking at them, but in a rare moment I commend Fox News for their stance.  These debates were all agreed upon a long time ago.  This isn't some kind of moral high ground Trump is taking against the ridiculousness of the campaign.....he's butt-hurt because Megan Kelly has made him look like a chump.

I thought Fox's statement had more funnies, honestly:

We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.

Maybe Trump should offer to debate with the Dems to start a bidding war.

That said, the primaries the debate schedule and the DNC/RNC need to be reigned in.  The system should be regulated and broadcasted on CSPAN.  It's a total sham that the networks can profit of the provocativeness of the debate, it creates an systemic incentive to favor the likes of Trump.

The butthurt is just a red herring; it's about leveraging terms that favor him even further, and gaining publicity all the while. The Megan Kelly thing is simply a way to (falsely) legitimize his pulling out of the debates.

The ratings of Thursdays debate will tell the story. Strong ratings mean its not about trump but rather excitement about choosing Obama's replacement. I expect Republicans are eager for the first real debate.

The ratings should not even matter as far as electoral process is concerned. That which draws ratings is not at all indicative of fitness for the Presidency.

We should expect that ratings would be down.  That will be given.  But that fact points to the clownshow of our election process, not that Trump is ought to be given some deference.

If the media is going to forgive him for being pro abortion and refusing to answer to it because he used 9-11 why not.  I know most of his supporters think this is the right move, but he doesn't have to lose many for this to destroy him even if the media cheering section gives him a standing ovation.

Trump just made his closing statement and this was it.  Yes I'm a Democrat, I always have been, I always will be one, but my supporters are stupid so good luck.

It's called pro-choice.
I don't recall him saying anything of the sort about him always being a Democrat.

Can you please shoot me a link to your source on this?

No in Donald's case it's pro abortion.  The difference between pro choice and pro abortion is his stance on late term abortion.  There is such a thing as a pro choice Republican, but if your not willing to explain yourself as his refusal to do any interviews with people unwilling to play by his rules it is a clear indication you don't have an answer for when you stopped being a Democrat.  His refusal to appear with Glen Beck was a clear indication he's never stopped being a Democrat as that was the only question he needed to answer with Beck.  As long as Trump can make the rules he has nothing to fear, if he gets backed into a corner he can say 9-11 or the Vets (it's called Veterans have some respect and say the full word), and certain segments of the media will let him bully them into praising laughable displays of dishonesty.

It seems to me the definitions of the terms "Democrat" and "Republican" are becoming somewhat arbitrary and capricious here.

I suggest "Whig" and "Tory" as replacements.

I can think of multiple disease's I'd say he deserves.

I personally think Trump deserves a non refundable boom daddy to the chin!
