Yes, ewoks occur in the original trilogy of Star Wars, in particular, they are encountered in the latter half of Return of the Jedi where they are cute little creatures with spears and rocks who end up turning the tide of battle in a sci-fi universe.

 

So they're kinda funny anyway in their out of place-ness. Not much more than that.

 

Star Wars was iconic, so if ya ever get a chance to watch it, it is probably worth the time, but obviously not the essential part of life some of us old timers want to believe.
